Photos & Bicycle Builds

Pictures of motorized bike projects and bike builds. Vote for the best build!
Here's a fun little topic, we get to see more pictures. The way it works is, the poster, (me) post a picture of my bike with some item. Then the challenger post a picture of their bike with the same (very similar) item. Then the challenger post a second picture of their bike with a new item for the next challenger to match. My first one I'll make easy my bike and a car. GO!
Started the new bike build. Went with the new style Cranbrook and will be doing a ton of mods. Already cut of the stock dropouts and welded on some horizontal dropouts in their place. Working on running the electrical and cables in frame. Shortened the seat tube 1" at the clamp. Plan to add some bracing in a few places. And of course an in frame tank is in the works. Going to use the case reed again but I'm rebuilding it with some mods and upgrades.
This is my first build. I have posted for a while now but today was the first day I had where everything was in that allowed me to do my first step of painting the frame. So far this build is going to be a retro/vintage looking Indian cruiser/board track racer. The frame is a GT2A Skyhawk frame with 150mm drop out. The front forks are black powder coated 1 1/8" threadless Sunlite Deluxe double springer. Once my threadless stem arrives Monday I hope the paint to be cured enough to assemble the head set so I can cut my steer tube down to size then I will be using Eastwood Down to Metal paint and powdercoat stripper so I can paint the forks in the same color as the frame. Anyways here are the photos I have taken from what I have done...
This build is kinda odd for me. I typically don't start any project with all new parts. Most of my stuff is but with old junk and some new stuff. That's how I picked the screen name. My last bike (first MB) was fun but had all kinds of problems with the Seeutek. Bearings went, then it broke a ring, next was wrist pin bearing failure that cracked the piston dome and then the final catastrophic lean the took out the entire top end which was caused by a broken carb. The bike itself also had issues with the derailleurs and brakes due to riding in the winter. Needed a repaint as well. Fvck that. This time I'm starting new. So.... I decided this bike was going to be a single speed cruiser with disc brakes to solve my biggest issues with the...
Hey there...:) So we're going to do this one properly..! Originally, I was going to go with a dedicated board track racer, but this idea became a little too cost prohibitive. With the frames at around $350 USD, that would be almost $500 by the time it got to Oz. And that's not even with the tank. In reality I was probably looking at around $1k AUD just in the frame..!So what I've decided on now is a hybrid street/board track. GT-5 frame with double springer front end, board track style bars and seat set up. Best of both worlds..! The idea is to have quality parts and running gear throughout, sourced from both bike and motorcycle brands. This thing will be fast so it has to be safe as well - plus it's not exactly legal to be riding...
My motor is finally purchased...i went with the pre sale option at $109 ,delivery im not sure when will take place..This will be somewhat of a slow build as im only expecting to invest so much per month towards the build and im in no hurry anyways..lol You can find this particular motor and alot more sold through ZedaMotorsports.com Expect lots of before and after pics of the build. Ill start with bottom end and show more as it happens. So, heres the game plan for the bottom end build...To start, the motor will be taken apart and inspected prior to the changes and thoroughly cleaned. (Bottom end) 1. Balanced crank (Zeda factory) 2. Lightened rod and pin 4 RB Tech 6202 2RS C3 (ABEC 3) premium crank and clutch bearings. 4. Upgrade...
Before I had a clue about motorbikes, I bought the gas tank frame from Badberry. I wanted to build my first 2 stroke and get it street legal and plated for Florida Laws. I also bought the Badberry "BBR Tuning" performance "80 / 100cc" engine kit for my soon to be legal bike. Then I read the Florida Statutes on Moped (gas motor bikes) and found out it needed to be 50cc or less. So I shelved the BBR engine and bought a silver streak 50cc motor kit and the rest is history for the Risk's Ride and its fully legal registered Florida Motorbike that reaches 35-40 mph with ease. I was tired of kicking that BBR kit around my garage and have all three of my Whizzers running pretty well, so I parked them under the sheets for a few weeks to...
I have finally settled on my next bike. It's a steel frame Mongoose Creekside. This bikes sole purpose will be speed and R&D. I've had this bike for some time and have already replaced all the bearings with sealed cartridges in the headset and bottom bracket. It had brand new everything as I had just rebuilt the bike before I stumbled upon this motorized bicycle craze. This bike is going to be the recipient of the Dio Reed Sleeved Stroker Engine I'm building. The Jack shaft kit has been ordered along with another Oko carb. The rear rack is going and the seat is getting lowered and pulled back. Going get rid of the suspension forks and go with a set of 30" triple trees forks with clip on bars. I'm still undecided about the gas tank but...
Okay, This project isn't near finished yet but I have been taking pictures at just about every step of the way. Heres a list of features that are going to be included on this build: -Mongoose XR-75 dual suspension MTB, aluminum frame, steel rear triangle. -Staton NuVinci drive with Mitsubishi TLE43 engine, half-lever left hand throttle/killswitch , right side NVshifter. Torsion bars. -center handlebar mounted digital speedo. -left handle bar end nashbar convex mirror. -New aluminum nashbar Jaws pedals. -double thick and slimed Bell innertubes -Bell kevlar lined 26x1.75 road tires (thin but should allow this thing to be pedaled if need be.) -Bottle and cage for extra fuel -Bell comfort Gel seat (black) -Finished and painted Staton...
Ok, so I see everyone building their bike I figured I'd start my own build thread in hopes that I can get some good feedback and if anything ideas on where to go with everything. Here is a pic of the jig I setup and the bike sitting in roughly the place it will stand once done. This is a one off build and will be built with chromoly tubing, a pit bike engine, and a jackshaft assembly similar to what I have seen on the motopeds.com build and sickbikeparts jackshaft setup. What I have on order that should be here in a few days: exhaust, handle bars, sprockets for wheel and jack shaft, and disk brakes. What I have now: head tube, wheels and tires, engine, seat, track ends, throttle, carb, (air filter on order). What was custom made: the...

It has been quite cold so I haven’t been riding my latest full suspension rig a whole lot, but I am very satisfied with it and I am continuing improvements and refinement. I have a simple but excellent 12V lighting system, with bright lights front and rear. Yesterday I completed my brake light, rigging a bright red led to a simple 12V battery pack (4 AA batteries) to a simple switch attached to my rear brake lever. I soldered a metal spring and attached it to the throttle body with a small zip tie. I soldered a small metal washer and attached it to the brake handle. Another zip tie leads the washer to the spring when I squeeze. Simple and effective. My financial situation is expected to be much better next year and my thinking is to...
Hey guys, I'm in the preliminary stage of building my first bike, so I thought in the meantime I'd entertain myself by asking for pictures of your awesome bikes :). I've already seen some cool stuff in my short time on this forum, but nowhere have I seen a thread devoted to pictures of your delicious machines! Let's see what you're riding :)! (also, if I missed a thread like this, please point me in the right direction.)‎
I know this has 4 wheels but the build is in the spirit of what we do here. A friend gave me a fairly nice Ezgo cart that needed too much to repair the electrics. Having a new 212 and torque converter in boxes its a no brainer. About a zillion of these have been done, but as usual I opted for the hard way. Not wanting to build all the intricate structures most folks do I opted to use the case of the old motor. Required a lot of tedious, actually a little over an hour, cutting of the motor case. With the case opened I can run a drive shaft inside the case turning the original input shaft with Lovejoys being driven by a a chain from the Preddy. This keeps every thing in its original places drive wise. Much less complicated fab wise. And...
This is now my 4th bike build and I wanted to show everyone as I go to get feedback. I was unhappy with my results on my last 3 builds. Also, I've found this forum to be a really helpful, friendly and informative community, anyway here it goes. So in excitement, I impulsively purchased the HD 2 stroke shifter kit at sickbikeparts.com I know now I wasnt fully processing that this kit is not a "jackshaft" which is fine because ultimately I didn't want the "jackshaft kit", i was wanting a "shift kit" that idea is really awesome to me. Luckily, even though i misunderstood I got the right kit,(i think). I got my "shifter kit" in the mail today. This is my 4th bike build I'm starting. I've had a blast with the other 3 builds. Thank you all...
