Photos & Bicycle Builds

Pictures of motorized bike projects and bike builds. Vote for the best build!
Here's a fun little topic, we get to see more pictures. The way it works is, the poster, (me) post a picture of my bike with some item. Then the challenger post a picture of their bike with the same (very similar) item. Then the challenger post a second picture of their bike with a new item for the next challenger to match. My first one I'll make easy my bike and a car. GO!
"Commando Commuter" Trek 3700 build I finally received my bicycle engine this weekend. It took two weeks to get here from Thunder Bay, Ontario. It's a Chris Hill engine kit. I just set the engine on the bike for a quick picture. I'm planning on painting the engine flat black to match the stealth look of the bike. I need to make a couple of brackets to mount it to the bike because my seat tube and down tube are too big to use the supplied brackets. I might also make my own fuel tank or use a MSR camping fuel bottle because the tank that came with it is too wide and I know I would hit my knees on it when I pedal. Anybody have experience using a fuel bottle for bicycle engine? I know I need to buy a MSR fuel pump for this bottle...
i know yall say ya dont really have to break in but im gonna get every thing right with my engine before i retrofit it to my long bike, but here are some pics of what its on right now......i bought it for $5 so it aint pretty but it works, well sorta...it lurges for about 30 seconds then dies have no idea why. the only thing i didnt do yet was hook up the kill switch, would that make a difference? idk its not on my long bike yet because the 80cc is a tad bigger than what i thought so...i got to cut the down tube out and move it forward, oh well small price to pay i guess!?
Well, i have a 66cc 2 stroke that i think is on the verge of killing itself and me, so i decided to build up another bike, So far its got a 25cc weed eater as its power plant, estimated top speed is around 20mph It feels really smooth, pulls me up little inclines (anything more than 15° i have to help it) I had to weld the starter tabs to the shaft to reinforce it a bit, its held up so far. Lets hope it stays that way The roadmaster frame feels fine, the forks feel, well non existent Ill update this thread as i progress with this bike, but for now, it gets me going!
Here is a bike I just built for my buddy to get around LSU. It's a 20 inch BMX with an 18cc featherlite engine powering it. Does about 20 MPH. Has a manual clutch set up. There is a video of it running on my Facebook page. Check out Single Cylinder Customs for in depth videos of it.
Good day to all! For a long time I wanted to post my topic on this forum. First, by the name of this monster. What is a dhampir? We open google and find something like this: "Dhampir is half human, half vampire." Dampires is generally portrayed as one with all or most powers of a vampire, with few to no disadvantages." If it is easier, then the concept of this bike is simple. Ideally, it should take the best from both kinds of transport and, if possible, not have their disadvantages. From bicycle - size, weight and the ability to ride pedals. From a light motorcycle - the dynamics of acceleration and cruising speed. All this - with weight and dimensions, under which it can be stored in the apartment. Of course, because is a...
A friend handed me this frame and fork and said: "It's French, good luck!". So I brought it home thinkin' it's a beautiful frame in great shape for being my age. My wife took one look at it and said: "Is that my bike that you are planning to build?" Uhmm, well, uhh, yes, that's right, I brought it home for you. Notice she even got my favorite seat! I procured a '70's brown brooks saddle for her but she liked the black one more. I like the brown one, and anyway, I'm much happier when Lady Firebelly is happy It's '70's Motobecane Nomad w/ 27" wheels.
i stripped my BLACK SABBATH stretch cruiser, and decided to do a cop bike. dont ask me why, cuz i dont know. its keeping my mind off the recent unpleasantness, and thats good. got rid of the straight drag bars. looked cool, but having to lean that far forward got really uncomfortable. turned the stock bars upside-down, and they feel wonderful. i found a never-seen-gas new whizzer tank on ebay for $40 and snatched it up. removed the emboss with a heat gun and Goof-Off. found a couple of ammo boxes, to use as saddle bags. found realistic-looking police decals. took all those and the fenders to my buddy, who owns a body shop. he did excellent work. sanded, primed, filled the dent in the tank from when i dropped it (that had me...
"Rat Rod" First of many. Finished " throwing together" a 1937 Excelsior single speed, coaster brake piece of ****. I love it because I have less than $75.00 in the whole project, minus the head and tail lights. I found the engine on Craigslist for $50.00, the rest of parts and pieces were less then $25.00. The Excelisor was in my fathers garage for last 50 yrs. that I know of $0. I will eventually put a disc brake on the front wheel. The "Rat" was left to look like a beat up piece so as not to get swiped. (Notice copper wire on gas line, large rusty logging chain, and old metal tool box on original book carrier).. I will try to get photos on this thread Nick Danger:geek:
Preliminary pics of my latest build "RatRace". Rear wheel will be strong spoked w/ Sturmey Archer 8spd disc mount hub and Sturmey cranks for 8 spd hub. I'll be purchasing an engine drive sprocket from Andy @ king's. I'll run KMC Kool Chain both sides no tensioner. I'm going w/ the dual pull Brake lever. All w/ a nice vintage "patina"!
Here I have my ol Kent Terra... getting ready to slap a 2 stroke engine on it....I've already got some fenders on the way, Plan on getting a pit bike headlight, triple tree fork and some hand guards... cant forget slick tires. I've seen so many people make Dirt bike style builds now. One guy with a GT LTS frame has accomplished this. But never any supermoto builds :(
I am never one to gloat but let me qualify my forthcoming quest for an attaboy. I am not a gear head or a motor head I am "that guy" that comes around and fixes your computer when you can't figure out why porn keeps popping up :) or it crashes...you know, geeky stuff. My first build was fine, a bit ugly, but functional, i had lots of help tho. having said that, I did all of this work myself, 100% of it(y) which is impressive because i had to replace the back wheel and install a freewheel. I shortened the drive chain the motor came with, i installed the engine, and like components, and installed some brakes! I sold that old bike and now i am HOOKED! this is my latest project: an old huffy beach cruiser with big california bars...
since i cant leave anything alone, i decided to try to make a preformence bike the cheapest way possible, with a jet drill kit and a dremel! first modifications: raised the cylinder 1.5ish mm with base gaskets. adjusted to exhaust port duration to 170deg (shaved about 4mm off of the exhuast port) and fixed the casting flash from the cylinder. upjeted the carb for E85 (#64 drill bit) set the squish gap to .5mm And cut the piston skirt. still trying to find a used dirt bike pipe for cheap. and im waiting on the 36t sprocket. but the build is going pretty good so far (im trying to aim for a good midrange and topend) it currently clocks in at 35mph (had to let off, it was very slippery outside) still need to fix the wheel hope (rear...
Once again I can't thank everyone enough for all their help with this bike. :DPainting techniques, chain alighnment, springer forks and engine mounting. I had to clean out my PM box twice with all the advice I was given. I had planned on getting springers before the forks hit the mail box. The head set got lost in the wreck so I ordered a new set wich didn't fit. So the Disney Princess' lost their head:eek: for a good cause and a perfect fit. The frame made for difficult installation so I welded a front spacer. I put the CDI up high and ran extra wire then used the heat shrink wire wrap for a clean look. Showing off my Texas pride too. And last but not least please welcome the newest MBc rider Duke. I know how closely everyone...
