Pictures of motorized bike projects and bike builds. Vote for the best build!
Here's a fun little topic, we get to see more pictures. The way it works is, the poster, (me) post a picture of my bike with some item. Then the challenger post a picture of their bike with the same (very similar) item. Then the challenger post a second picture of their bike with a new item for the next challenger to match. My first one I'll make easy my bike and a car. GO!
Just wanted to show how to setup new throttle linkage on carburetor after the governor has been deleted using only the stock parts from the phatmoto and no other parts purchased for this upgrade. The throttle works now very smooth without great resistance like stock. Save the little black spring, I tried one I had laying around, too weak, use the black spring on original bracket. The little lock nut is used to attach the cable to the little wire type arm on carburetor. One side of the throttle arm is cut so it can fit inside lock nut with cable.
Hyway 372xp big bore cylinder which would be for a Husqvarna 372xp chainsaw (52mm x 38mm). The crank bought by Don Butler initially claimed to be balanced to 52%, turned out to be only 35%. To rectify this, I bored out the original holes and drilled them deeper, achieving 50% balance. The reciprocating mass was 156g, and I removed 23.4g to reach 50% balance. I inserted brass bushings (10x12x8) in the piston to accommodate a 10mm wrist pin so I could still use a wrist pin needle bearing and not a 12mm wrist pin and a bushing on the conrod instead. The case is an undrilled YD100 case (super special), and I modified the transfers because the original transfers are horrific. The 66cc/69cc has better transfers. Additionally, I added an M3...

A bitter sweet ending to my 6 month deployment to another hot dusty place. I get to go home to my family, but had to sell my beloved bike. If I was going back to a place that had more that a few months of good riding weather I would have sent it home, but Germany is known for its cold, snow, and rain. I would not feel right keeping such a machine garaged for most of the year. I thank all of you for your help, both those who actively posted answers to my questions and those who shared their knowledge throughout this forum. I spent many hours reading these gems of information to build the fastest bike on the base (60+ KPH). I will come by to lurk from time-to-time as I ponder what I will build when I finally move to a warmer location.
First bike build. Started with a free donor, painted it to my liking and so far this is where I’m at. I ordered an expansion chamber like the MZ65 and that’ll go on tomorrow night when it arrives. Saw a great idea to weld the stock silencer onto the end of the expansion chamber so I’m going to try it. Looking forward to getting this puppy on the road by the weekend.
Hey guys, after meeting this community and completing my first build through your guys help I decided to start an instagram page devoted to shouting out other bike enthusiasts and their custom builds to bring awareness to this hidden hobby. If you guys could please stop by and check out my gallery I would be honored anything above that would be a bonus. Thanks for all the help and getting me addicted to such an amazing hobby! This is my second attempt at a motorized bike. I started with a electra frame than did some body work and paint to it. I got a set of triple tree chopper forks that I cut down for the right look for ride height. Than I welded a front motor mount to frame and mounted the motor so it would be nice and solid the motor I had was used and most of the mounting holes were stripped out and we having a huge problem with vibration loosing everything up. So I drilled and tapped the front mount bolts out to 8mm and welded a plate on the top of my mount so it would sandwich the motor and hold it steady. Than on to my next problems exhaust bolts stripped, tryed everything nothing worked good ended up buying a new head from jnmotors and making a...
