It is official..... Ron Dow in TX built it, ownership was transferred to Terry McAllister in IL, and soon to be added to my collection in NC. The Whizzer has 2 motors inline, with WC-1 bottom ends and NE top ends. I have agreed to build the motors up and run it at Bonneville in the near future. I will be testing it at a special track in NC to sort out all the details. Who knows how fast it will go, but I am thinking between 70 MPH and 100 MPH. Have fun,
I maybe trying to reinvent the wheel right now but when it comes to frames do the they have to be welded, I've always wanted a motorized bicycle that had a more of a cruiser look to it and while a beach cruiser comes close I wonder what if you where to drop the bottom bar where the engine mounts to lower so there's more clearance. I always want to improve something and it dawned on me that to build my perfect bike I would have to build the frame and while I can mentally build a frame in my head I realize that I don't want to purchase and learn how to weld just so I can build a single frame. If I was to build a frame using square tubing what's stopping me from instead of using welds to secure the tubing together instead using harden...
this is my pile of parts.ported exh.and intake.notched piston all transfer ports matched.sbp ex chamber custom length.e-3 plug and hi-po filter minus the junk speedo ,it came off soon as i put it on said it, said i was doing 50mph. itll do 38 mph starving for gas on top end.and its very twitchy at high speeds.with the homemade front forks
G'day, just about completed another BTR build, got a little more to do, but with the interest in BTR's , thought I'd share it with you. Started out with a frame from a disposable MTB, found in the hard garbage collection. Cut an' shut it a little, fillet brazed and hand filed. Forks are cut down 28' blades with a custom made crown and reinforcements. Fitted up a big bore HT China motor that I fettled for a little extra go on custom solid mounts. Made a tank out of some 1mm mild steel, lead soldered, the filler is out of 3/4 brass plumbing fittings, turned and knurled on the lathe+ a vintage brass tap. Still needs some more details finished, exhaust is to be extended out the back with a muffler and fish-tail. Sounds phat with the...
Hey there...:) So we're going to do this one properly..! Originally, I was going to go with a dedicated board track racer, but this idea became a little too cost prohibitive. With the frames at around $350 USD, that would be almost $500 by the time it got to Oz. And that's not even with the tank. In reality I was probably looking at around $1k AUD just in the frame..!So what I've decided on now is a hybrid street/board track. GT-5 frame with double springer front end, board track style bars and seat set up. Best of both worlds..! The idea is to have quality parts and running gear throughout, sourced from both bike and motorcycle brands. This thing will be fast so it has to be safe as well - plus it's not exactly legal to be riding...
Hello Everyone, This is my first motorized bike project and it's been a lot of fun. This bike started life as a 1940's Ben Hur cruiser. I made the gas tank and oil tank out of aluminum. There was some other fabrication that had to be done also. The whole bike was taken apart, sandblasted and repainted. The whole project has taken me about a month and a halve working on it here and there. I still need to do a few minor things.
Here are a few pics. (Sorry about the size, I have to figure out how to resize them in this format) I plan on using a HF 79cc Predator on this one. I have one on the way now. Made some minor progress while waiting for motor and mount to arrive. I will probably go with this setup :http://www.affordablegokarts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=A&Product_Code=2600&Category_Code=MTRBK79. Has anyone here used this jackshaft assembly? I would like to get some feedback before I commit to buying it. I will also be using a sprocket adapter from MM, so that wil also factor in. The "hand bent" seat post will be replaced by a real one at some time. I used it to get a reference point. I will try to...
Hey all, First off, holy crap that vibrations bad haha what the hell! Thats going to be the first issue on the agenda. I have got the motor kit and the bmx, I have mounted it in the bmx and with the skillfull use of a hammer and a hacksaw i have managed to get it running without any issues. I will put pics up later when I have more time. It goes better and worse than I thought but I got the kit for 160nzd and the bike for 40nzd so i'm not complaining (the bmx was almost too good to modify, Full ABD setup, some kid had just taken to it with a fluro rattle can). I'll jump on when I can and update as I go
Hey everyone. I'm on my 3rd bike now. Just now joining to check out the cool builds and to show off a bit. My first bike was typical road bike with a 66 china motor. The last 2 are BMX style bikes. The one I'm working on now is a fat tire Mongoose 20" BMX. Just got around to installing brakes on it. Its way more exciting without the abilty to stop. Ha! a couple of pictures attached of the bikes along the way.
Here's my bike! :D http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w208/VicXsaN/R32047-2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w208/VicXsaN/R32041-2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w208/VicXsaN/R32046-2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w208/VicXsaN/R32042-2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w208/VicXsaN/R32043-2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w208/VicXsaN/R32045-2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w208/VicXsaN/R32044-2.jpg I'm thinking of making another tank that will sit where the tankplate is! And all of the wires, that needs it, will be shortened!
