I built this bike in 2010 and ride it off and on since then. It operates flawlessly and only issue since 2010 has been new chain. You can ride it with engine running or engine off doesn't make much difference other then weight of motor system. I am getting up in age and don't ride much anymore due to health issues. My question is would anyone have any interest in a turn key moterized shifter bike for about 750. I hate to just hang it from the ceiling and not be used. I am located near Seattle Washington.
well ive got a new scooter. $25 bucks for the rolling chasis. i swapped the stock rims for 500CD rims (their lighter and stronger) i have a rear mount, off my alternator project, and i think a 2hp briggs with a centrifugal clutch will fit real nice behind the seat. this will allow me to have a standup/sitdown, and it will be more driveable, and it wont burn your leg(s) it will have all the plastics too. it wont be a speed demon, just something to putt around, and it will have good breaks also (thats a 1st)
Hello all. Just joined today and thought i'd put up a few pics of a couple of my ongoing projects. I will if anyone is interested putting a breakdown from start to finish on a couple of them some time soon. both are unfinished. the smaller one is running off a 250w motor but im putting a 500w in soon. The large one was built in the 1960s originally with a Villiers MK1 Midget engine in it most of the parts are from 1950s,60s motorscooters. I am converting it into a 2000w electric one. the pic of the red one is what the large black one looked like when i got it.
Long time lurker, first time poster. Thanks for all the great info here. With y'all's help I've built a couple bikes for my transportation needs. The black one is a KHS Alite 40 with a Honda GX35 Staton friction drive running a 1 inch drive roller. I've swapped out the mtb tires for Fincci street rubber, Kool Stop break pads, Shimano trigger shifters, and a dual brake lever. It's my daily work commuter when it's dry out. It's been perfectly reliable and a comfortable runner over all with the only exception I've had to replace the bearings for the drive roller a couple times now. This last time I replaced the grease that came in the bearings with Lucas Red and Tacky, so far so good. The red one is a Schwinn Sanctuary 7 that's about...
Hey guys just pick up this new bike and cannot find any info about it. It looks just like a cranbrook. The company is called Honest and there is a sticker says manufactured by Cycle Force Group. Anyone heard of these bikes before? I’m also not sure what I wanna do with it. Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks!
Still my same bike but my first thread is so old and it's come quite a ways since I first put it together, so I wanted to start over with a clean fresh new thread. Here's my current build, based on a 1997 Gary Fisher Mamba. Here's how she used to look: And here's what started the change: After this happened, one thing led to another, and, well...here she is. PARTS LIST: Engine -66cc China Girl --No-name billet head --No-name MZ65 replica --DIO reed valve --19mm OKO carburetor (GENUINE, not the all-too-common Chinese knockoffs) --Windowed piston --Sick Bike Parts shift kit --Jaguar CDI (on its way) Front end -Monark Type II front fork and headset -Shimano HB-M475 front disc hub (on its way) -TRP HY/RD hydromechanic front disc...
Ok, it took longer than I expected, but now it is done and almost through break in. Took the Huffy Causeway (decent older cantilever frame) down to the frame, cheap rattle can paint job, took all the rust off the only components I used; crank, chain ring, seat post and stem. Could not get the chain guard on as the motor is too low. New handle bars, grips, aluminum twist grip, dual break lever with stop light switch (future upgrade to lucky owner), all new cables, upgraded bolt on tank (thanks Karl for that $35 tip) super magneto and CDI, new schwinn comfort seat, nice heavy duty steel mirror, heavy duty Husky steel rims with 12 GA spokes and disc brake hubs (removed from by BS Berry motor ready bike with the bent wheels I could not use)...
Got this frame about a year ago for $5, very rusty. Initially I put a chainsaw engine on there but being rather used and 2 stroke it ended up dying, so I found a snowblower in a junkyard with a 13hp tecumseh on it that sorta sputtered when I threw some gas in there so I bought a carb and welded the frame around it out of an old stop sign post. Was thinking about a centrifugal clutch, but all the cheap ones have reviews of them burning out and any good one with a 1" bore is like $100 or so, so I went with a foot actuated friction belt clutch using the stock tensioner, and it turned out to be a good way to get a 2 speed anyways. Considered a cvt but again, those are also expensive, and total my build is just under $150. Can pop a wheelie...
Hi all newbie here from Australia my name's Sam and I'm 30 recently after a few sleepless nights I thought it was time to try joining two cag 49cc engines together but then ran into a problem joined the crank shafts together so I have come up with this. Using two motorised bike magnet and Magnetos. The pros easier to join the shafts. Cons no cooling. But hey it's a work in progress Video here https://youtu.be/VRgzHh9aO1U
Hey friends, I just wanted to share some of my recent upgrades on an old build I originally put on the road back in 2007. It's the same motor and OG SBP Shift kit that's been on it since day one. This is just the latest in a succession of cylinders I've tried on it including some moped jugs, but the more modern China Girl jug is holding up real well and makes more power I think than my original ever did. Ports look a little more open especially the transfers, but none of this is groundbreaking build wise. It's just always been a solid runner, but sat for a while until recently. I'm showing off my new cockpit and contact points here, but the carb is newer and low hours, the front wheel was recently upgraded, it got fresh rubber, mr...
Here's my first (for myself, I have put together a few others) build, an imaycc 80cc kit (came with the little bike computer) on a Kent seachange. Swapped for mag wheels. Removed rear coaster brake, rear dropouts are too narrow to put both a sprocket and a disc brake on so I just have a front disc brake. I welded on one of those universal disc brake adapters to the front fork (just screws/friction don't keep the caliper and bracket from twisting and moving) and stopping power seems adequate. There's also a VM18 Carby and ngk bh6s on there now and she's running way rich with 30 pilot and 75-85 main, next step is to see how the 65 does (70 is stock) and pick up a couple smaller pilot jets. Right side "brake" is my killswitch. I got in a...
I saw this BMX laying around in my buddies yard.. "can I have it and put an engine on?" "you can do to this bike whatever you want" 20" wheels I used round steel from ace hardware, flattened the ends and drilled a hole for a screw. Then I was able to mount the engine mount over the rear wheel. A twisted piece of flat steel prevents back and forth movement. That one is slotted so I'm able to move things around later on This bike has massive steel drop outs so no problem drilling through them. Top speed at 6800RPM is 25mph. Hop on, pull start, give it some throttle and go. It feels zippy and easy to move because it's so small. my beer holder and GPS speedometer I built my own extra long throttle cable out of an old brake cable
I posted this bike last year when it was all electric. Added gas but also wanted to keep the electric, and have it even more functional. Now has regenerative charging of the battery when running on gas, can run on gas, electric, pedal, or any combination. With both gas and electric I even have both front and rear wheel drive (only one rear wheel is driven). I really don't know if it would make it, but it should go pretty close to 55 or sixty. It turns 1560 rpm at 30 mph. It's been a hot minute! Or like 10 or so years since I've been on this site...But I've been busy with life! I started this bike in the Fall last year and just finished the fabrication last week. I've been testing it and now it's time to disassemble and paint. The front-end suspension is a design based off an Atomic Zombie build. At first it was like trying to steer a beach ball, but after a while I got the hang of it and can do a U-turn without putting my feet down.
Hey guys this is Cruz from Down the Block. I recently obtained this gnarly bike off a friend of my family. At first the bike had skinner forks which were probably taken off a Schwinn bike and had a slimmer tire. But I swapped the front tire and put on a 20x2.80 tire just for now. I plan on switching the forks out with OCC chopper forks. I'm having trouble figuring out how to install brakes on that wide back tire. And I don't really like the fact of having a pull string to start the motor. It's definitely a interesting find and would like some sort of assistance or advice on how to best build this beast bike.
