Well heres another "boardtrack" type bike that I just finished a few days ago. I started out just wanting to build a pretty simple motored bike, but after making up a few sketches, it turned out to be a bit of a motorcycle! Basics are: rear triangle off an old roadmaster bike, the rest of the frame is entirely handmade. Lifan 150cc, 5 speed. Got it up to about 50, but it has plenty more, plus one more gear! Built the tank and battery box from 16g sheet metal, solid! Fabbed the headset, bolt heads all linkages, rear brake, brackets, seat mounts, pedestals, sprocket started life as a quarter inch chunk of plate. Fenders are bought and wheels are worksman cycle with 11g spokes and front drum, excellent wheels! I still need to paint the...
For those of you who are interested, here are some progress pics of the vintage/boardracer style bike iRide is building. I mostly just worked on the tank today... Hi gang, I have seen a lot of bikes here referring to "Board Track Racer" and I wanted to show you mine, which I got running today. Mine is a true drop-loop design, used by almost all early motorcycle manufacturers after 1904, which earlier had been "Diamond frames" I had wanted to build her up to be a full motorcycle, but, after riding this bike (yet incomplete) feeling the power of the OVH exposed BTR engine, I have decided to continue to the finish as a Racer. NOT a "Factory Racer", but instead a "Privateers" Racer, stripped down from a factory Motorcycle, hopped up, and maybe even chopped in some way, so as to be competitive on the boards. I chose not to go with the short "baloney sliced" headpipe, as so many did, as I...
This is my new motored bike, it's almost done, there are some minor details to end or fix, like finish the lighting system, or some fine tuning of the carb, but it's working fine for now. The bike it's a standard 26 double suspension bike, the only modification to the bike was the fork, and the disk brake in front. The engine it's an argentinan engine brand da-dalt, which is a copy of a Motori Morini Italian moped engine. This engine has 50cc of displacement, reed valve admission, and a very thick aluminum crankcase, very robust with very very big bearings, it's almost indestructible, that's why i choose it ;). It has also an Dell'Orto SHA1412 carb, a CDI ignition and lighting coil (both separated circuits) with a ducati magneto, a...
Got a basket case bike for next to nothing I'm trying to keep the budget low Around 100$. Originly was going for a cafe build but did a quick 180 and decided to go with a early motorcycle style build. Stay tuned ill post daily with updates. I should have a pile of parts waiting for me when I get home.
Cronus. He was the chief god of the Titans, the Elder Gods of Greek mythology, and was defeated and supplanted by Zeus (his son), after seizing power himself from his father, Ura*us. He ruled over the so-called "Golden Age", a time of harmony, peace and plenty. He is golden. Hear him roar! Thank you Simple Simon for helping me name my new bike. And Duane,Thank you is simply not enough. Duane did all the work, man. I take very little credit. I DID get that rear fender on there! I needed to clear the sprocket bolt, but you really can't notice it cause the engine kinda screams "HERE I AM!!!" The thick chain rubbed some on the tire. Remember now Duane had to remove the rubber spacer to clear the coaster arm so it moved the sprocket...
This is my first post, but my second motorized bike. The first was a Kent mb with a 66cc that i bought completed. It was great, but I gave it away a few years ago before ever doing anything to it. I've built a 48v/1600watt scooter for running my dogs that I gave to my nephews, and a 48v/1000watt fat tire mb that i still own at another property. my main complaint about electric bikes has always been up-front cost, don't store well, and break-fix cost. It seems if you let the ebike sit for a few months and come back, something is now not working... moisture got to something... your $400 battery is half the ah or totally bricked... something. So I decided last month to try a cheap yd100 budget build for going 8mi back and forth from the...
This is the bicycle and the engine I am trying to put together. So far they are just piles of parts in the corner but as I progress I will post pictures of my grand experiment. I am reading several threads right now before I dig in. I got the bicycle off ebay here. http://myworld.ebay.com/bikebuyers-factory-outlet/?_trksid=p4340.l2559 I got the engine here. http://www.motovelo.us/

I am planing on building a 4 stroke motorized bicycle sometime mid 2015. I want to use a 2015 Schwinn coffee but I am open to recommended bikes for a build. I do kinda have my heart set on the Schwinn coffee and it looks like it could be a good engine fit without being to tall for me. I am pretty short (5 feet 7 inches) so I don't want a bike that's exceedingly, uncomfortably tall like most motorized bikes seem to be. and from what I've noticed it looks like they wouldn't need that big of a frame size. just seems like more extra unneeded space and frame height. I've ridden on a motorized bike that was to tall for me and it wasn't a very comfortable ride especially during stops and red lights. What 4 stroke bike motors are legal in...
So I said howdy, now's when I share the good stuff (and the bad stuff too). In 2016 I built the Jura Big Fifty, using an Electra Cruiser 1 and a Bikeberry 49cc 4-stroke kit. This is what it looked like right out of the barn: And of course there were problems. First I couldn't get the coaster brake to work. Felt like it was slipping. So in spite of it being brand new, I rebuilt and adjusted it. Got real good at rebuilding and adjusting coaster brakes. Still no go. Then I decided that the coaster just wasn't up to the task of stopping 300 pounds of bike and rider, even with the Sturmey front drum helping out, and ditched it. Got a new rear hub from Bikeberry/BBR that uses a thread-on sprocket and comes with a thread-on band brake. The...
here are a few pics of some of my machines.will try to find disc with other and hopefully better pic later.first is display machine with 7 engines.from front to back mocyc, bsa winged wheel, sturmney archer, chinese 80cc,mosquito,powerpak & cyclemaster.second machine is kroxa russian engine.third is 1930s levis.fourth & fith are chinese 80cc engines and last is a 1950s sturmney archer engine on bike undergoing restoration.i have over thirty types of motor but not all on bikes.
Once again I can't thank everyone enough for all their help with this bike. :DPainting techniques, chain alighnment, springer forks and engine mounting. I had to clean out my PM box twice with all the advice I was given. I had planned on getting springers before the forks hit the mail box. The head set got lost in the wreck so I ordered a new set wich didn't fit. So the Disney Princess' lost their head:eek: for a good cause and a perfect fit. The frame made for difficult installation so I welded a front spacer. I put the CDI up high and ran extra wire then used the heat shrink wire wrap for a clean look. Showing off my Texas pride too. And last but not least please welcome the newest MBc rider Duke. I know how closely everyone...
How yall doin? So I guess this is the pace to start... I had joined motorizedbikeforum.the-talk.net but was sorely disappointed with the complete lack of response to nearly everything after waiting their mandatory 7 days before I could even post links (and couldn't post pics at all), so I'd like to post my story here for all willing minds to consider. So, continuing on... This is my build so far: Shall I start from the beginning? Well, I got this particular bike at least 15 years ago (maybe more), and rode it a good bit for about 3 years, until school and chores ate up all my free time, so its been sitting quite a while. Well, while roaming around on youtube, I saw this guy Panofish putting an engine kit on his bicycle. I had...
