Has anyone found a way to "tap" into the electrical system of the engine to provide power for lighting etc?
Since all 3 types of engines are basically the same(Huasheng/Titan/Honda) i figure one electrical system is much like another.
If so please post pics of what wire/wires u used and what voltage/potential current your accessing.
I'm taking my GXH50 to a motorbike electrician later this week to hopefually get my question answered and i'll need to get it running there so he can test the voltage.

PS...while i'm there i'm gonna ask him how to tapp into the kill switch so i can have a keyed ignition switch somewhere stragically placed.

i think its the same as the ht. i took a screen shot of the manual. see pic.

Yes i see that Tater but i've never liked the idea of grounding the ignition coil every time i want to stop the engine. It's the same idea as shorting-out the magnetos "white wire" on a HT,and on the HT i would much rather interupt the circuit using the blue wire.
I'm trying to find the equivalent "blue wire" on the 4-strokes but since i also have an oil pressure cut-off switch on my engine it makes things more complicated.
I need to see this motorbike electrician anyway so if it's possible i'll let everyone know...i'll also let everyone know about running external electrical power.

This shouldn't be a probem, fetor. IF the coil were some sort of secondary coil, where shorting it wouldn't kill the engine, then it WOULD be a problem. The amount of current would cause the coil to eventually heat up & fry.

However, when you short out the coil, the motor stops spinning in a few seconds. There isn't enough time (or current) to cause the whole coil to heat up enough to cause any damage. If 3 watts is the upper limit before the engine is affected, 6 watts should be enough to kill the engine. So, we'll assume 10 watts. Take a look at a 10 watt florescent bulb - place you hand around the bulb and base, and turn it on. How long before your hand gets warm? A minute? 5 minutes? The amount of mass to heat up is about the same as a coil of wire. Plus, the coil of wire is wrapped around a lump of laminated steel. There's a LOT of mass there, and not much power to heat it up...

Help with kill switch

My HuangSheng 4stroke is ready. Only thing to do id start it and wire up the 2 wires from the throttle mounted kill switch. Please can someone tell me how to do this?
Do I take the wires to the on/off switch on front of engine & what do I do with the 2 wires from the throttle switch?
Many thanks to anyone who can help.
