Yet another wierd Aussie

Welcome to MBc. Have you checked out the Bionx system Utah Trikes puts on the WhizzWheelz Path? The same setup should work well on the Greenspeed. I don't really know much about the electrics (I'm allergic to electricity), but I will say that these tadpoles are an amazing platform for motorization. Keep us updated.

I would love to go the Bionx route, mainly for the automatic proportional assist it provides. I can't swallow the cost ( around 1800 AUD ) and the guys at Greenspeed have apparently had some reliability problems, and some serious warranty headaches. Don't know if it was just a particular rider being han fisted, or a general trend. Also not keen on the cogging that apparently comes with brushless hub motor's, though I have never ridden one to actually feel how significant the drag is.

These are pics of the daily rider of Greenspeeds CEO , Ian. I plan on copying his setup, though I don't think I am game to weld mounts on, not yet at least.

Hopefully I will be ordering a 650w Cyclone in the next few weeks. I plan on doing a review once I get things sorted, including pics.

The GLR is an amazing platform even without the assist. To date my best speed run has been 92 kph. Interesting to say the least, as the road was a bit rough... all the back wheel movement comes up through the seat to my neck, and at that speed the frequency was higher than my eye muscles could keep up with so everything went blurry. Pretty freaky when I was not expecting it. Chickened out near the bottom and braked down to 70 so I could get around a corner without comming off.

Electricity is all about smoke.. When you let the smoke out, things stop working. The darker the smoke, the more expensive it is to put back in.. :)

steam cycle

Have you considered a steam driven bike? Imagine that, chuffing down the street on your one-of-a-kind lococycle.
