Seems like if you'd wrap it CCW & you're turning it CW... the end of the teflon is going to get snagged & move somewhere you didn't want it to be.

I've always spun it in the same direction of the threads.

Well my problem isn't sealing the threads, it's getting the gas flowing to the carb. I've always had the pin pointing down, in alignment with the fuel line, now that doesn't seem correct. Maybe I need a new petcock?
