K so I had a broken muffler not too long ago, maybe 120kms, and the stupid thing broke on me again in the EXACT same way. Is there a way that I could weld it back together? Im hesitant on purchasing a new one cause i think it will do it again? ( I didnt hit anything or go over anything that might have knocked it ).

The only thing that could cause it is excessive vibration, are your engine mounts tight? as in, can you get a good hold of the frame with one hand and grab the head with the other and move the motor even a little?
These motors vibrate, if they are little loose it amplifies the vibration.
Also If you are using the bracket to clamp the muffler to the frame and the engine has even a little movement it will break the exhaust.

Hi Wow that's ****. Anyway if you can't get a hold of a welder may be take it to a machine shop, and get them to run a weld around it. It would be best it you got a mig, and not an arc welder as its pretty thin and with a back yard arc welder you'll probably be blowing holes in it. Or you could try brazing it.
Or buy a new muffler and try supporting it to the frame.

i have water bottle mounts on my mtb as well. So how do you mean that you wrapped it in rubber? I am not understanding what you mean? could you please explain a little bit in detail please?I am gonna mount it somehow and i can use the "tips", from someone who has already done it, thanks man.

Sorry uploaded and older pic. I wrapped the muffler to cut down on vibration. The Ace hardware near me sells thick rubber pump gasket material, and I cut it and mount everything on top of it, motor, gas tank, muffler, etc...

I use a piece metal flat stock 1/2 to 3/4 wide 1/8 inch thick. Remove screw that holds exhaust tip on get a bolt that is alittle longer drill hole in end of stock radius the end so you can bolt it to end of pipe. The other end I will usually mount using kickstand bolt. The metal bends easy enough to give the angle you need to go from end of pipe up to where the bolt go's through the mount that holds the kickstand. Hope this helps.
