We have made bicycle engine kits since 1984... 23 years so we know what we're doing....
Don't buy a CHEAP China made engine like the Four Cycle or two cycle engines being sold. They are not worth messing with.
You will want a Robin-Subaru Four Cycle, Mitsubishi two cycle, Tanaka two cycle or Honda four cycle engine.

Looks like the Chinese finally got to Dave.....

CHINA COPY MITSUBISHI 2 Cycle BICYCLE ENGINE BIKE MOTOR

Actually its a pretty good engine and if it sells for $329 shipped will be a good deal
The real Mitsubishi sells for $464

I was going to make some smart a$$ remark about this.....

BUT went to check it out on Ebay, and it looks like one heak of a good deal!

FREE shipping as well, WOW!

A CNC machine in China works just like a CNC machine in Japan. China has ISO 9001 factories and they also have some real junkers. Just look at the HT engines, there seems to be a large disparity in quality between engines from different plants. I believe the supply of Japanese TLE 43's has dried up, looks like they have been outsourced to China. So what's new.

WELL - from an old small engine repair man -
if it's 329 for an engine from China - copy of or whatever
or 464 for an engine from Japan
no brainer -- I would pay the extra for the one made in Japan.....

yes - everything seems to be moving to China
but - I am in NO HURRY !!!!!!!

Actually you can get one of the Mitsui engine copies for about $140 shipped
so you could have a spare engine for about the same money

It comes with an alternator / electric starter too

Daves gonna have to update his website and eBay auction text

Next thing you know he's gunna be selling Chinese Honda 50 copies which
aren't too bad either

Staton lists the serial number on this engine, it might be the one and only. I've noticed he has had a few oddball engines for sale from time to time, maybe from doing a little R&D of his own. We shall see.

Gotta love Dave's Oklahoma bluntness, puts it right out there in bold: China Copy.....

There are a few previous generation Mitsubishi engines still available, though getting harder to find. I recently picked up a new-in-box Mitsubishi T200, 40cc 2HP, made in Japan, $100 shipped. Just got it mounted and it's running great.
