NuVinci hub on a Grubee 4-stroke Frame Mount

Is it just me or are those pics really small and hard to see?

NM Cruiser, those pics are just great except the are too pixellated to make out anything in the detail. Do you think you could replace them with ones that are 1024 x 768 pixels. You can't do this unless you have decent originals to save them from. I didn't think the Cadillac Fleetwood was coming out until October this year. How did you get yours? Has the bike got a front brake?

Irish, I bought it online from Costco for $480, but I cannot find it on their website any more. I assume they are on back order as I cannot find them at abikestore.com either. No, unfortunately the bike doesn't have a front brake. However, it brakes better than my last MB with older rim brakes. I plan on adding front disk brakes in the future.

I will post new photos tomorrow.

It is a great ride, but I am going to change the gear ratio for the jackshaft to get better top end on the flats.

higher resolution photos

I have added some new photos including closeups to the album. I tried to upload higher res. images, but the forum reduces it. I just realized the photos that I added are larger in size even though the resolutions are lower. I will repost all of the images so they will at least be larger.

If you want higher resolution photos of any of the pics, send me a PM and I will email them to you.

It seems like you would have a problem with one too many handgrips, one for the clutch, left side, one for the brakes, right side, and one for the Nuvinci trans, right side. How do you solve this? MIke S

I understood that the NV was operated by a twist grip on the left similar to the throttle on the right. The engager lever is on the left, the one and only brake lever is on the right. Pity it hasn't got springer forks cos these motors really need them due to increased speed. I wonder can it take a springer fork or is the head tube the wrong length like on a schwinn alloy 7.
There are so many almost perfect bikes for motorising but then they have one or two really bad drawbacks.

Staton sells a NuVinci kit that has a manual clutch? I don't think so.

The overall range of the NV hub is 3.5, that is from 0.5 to 1.75

Could you enlighten us as to what this means say in terms of ordinary gears like a rear derailleur or hub gears. I know that the front chain ring has a bearing as well but presume the front chain ring is 44T as per the usual Grubee kit.
The Shimano Nexus 7 hub has a 36T front chain ring but when it's changed to a 44T it pedals along beautifully at about 45 km\hr which means you can pedal comfortably when motoring and it still feels nice so you aren't pedalling in thin air. Once you have a motor its the high end you need more than the really low end wouldn't you agree?
