petcock and fuel leak

large, if you go to my tube, i did a vid its called my peeing tank, if you look i have the petcock shut but it still drips, thats probablly your problem, im replacing that petcock the next time im at harly, cause the one on the silver tank doesnt do that.. link is in my sig

my petcock leaked too. I put electrical tape around it,
which stopped it temporarily.

I'll try the plumbers tape.

On subject of leaks, has anyone perfected the fix for the petrol cap yet.
as the ones that come from the kit are faulty in my opinion.

I ordered a second and it leaked too.

I've seen one other bike setup,
and it leaked as well.

I once taped a plastic bag onto the cap to
transport my bike, that worked,
buts not practical.

I had this guy tell me that you could make it work by
putting silicone around it's inside,
then put the cap on the tank.

Let it dry pull it off straight away, its up to you.

I was thinking of trying this with plastic protecting the tank.
take it off and let it dry, then fix.

I haven't done this, maybe it been done here.
I searched on the term cap, and found no references.

CYA
Will.

in mny opinon, those caps are just to keep other liquids out, cause it overlaps the edge, but thous caps are impossible to find, im still thinking, but i might get a motorcycle tank....

Maybe I'll look into an auto store for some automotive grade line.
Thanks for that tip cooltoy!

Yea I looked at that video, eltatertoto. Maybe I'll try the teflon first then go with a valve replacement. It's really not that bad, though. I mean it's not dripping or anything.

Funny that my cap never leaks. I've felt very lucky with my kingsmotors kit as I've been going for a good six months now-every single day without any issues.
As for the fuel line, the stuff I got is almost like a "medical grade" hose..very soft, yet thick and strong. I think it may have been for a weed-eater but like I said ,I went to a john deer dealer.

I haven't ever needed to use teflon tape. The soft brass threads on the petcock valve will seal up nicely if you apply sufficient torque to the assembly...yes, with a wrench :)...what else would you use?

Skyliner I want to stop the leak, but wouldn't all that torque be a little rough on the tank? I think mine would crack haha.
