I'll tell you, I woke up this morning and I thought my shoulder was broken it hurt so bad!
It is starting to loosen up now so I am thinking all is well, just badly bruised! 38 years of life and I still have never broken a bone!
\Something else comes to mind.
We might be wise to make sure there is some (hopefully small) contact between ourselves and the cars that do this sort of stuff to us. That way when the jerk takes off, he's now committed a hit-and-run.

Exactly. Trade paint - and even fist marks into sheet metal if necessary to 'cushion' the impact. It's like almost hitting a deer with a car. Insurance companies call it your fault if you don't actually hit the deer and you damage your car anyway. The proof is in the contact.
Anybody pulling that stunt on me won't get away unscathed if I can't brake my way out of it.
I agree, and certainly didn't mean to imply that one should take the offensive in any way other than to defend yourself. I'm thinking of it more in terms of what is least likely to cause me injury, an open handed deflection with my fingers and palms, or the back of my Kevlar armored gloves in line with my wrist joint. I learned long ago while snowboarding that the wrist always takes the worst of it when you fall palms first.Oooh, i'd watch it with that, you might get a little more than a bump if you start beating on peoples cars.
