Neat!

I wonder what that $199.95 would translate to in today's dollars.

Unless that was the early 30s (looks like it might be 1940s or even 50s), the conversion wouldn't be too bad.

One thing that's changed is the 5 year warranty.

Says no belt or chain, probably friction drive. Hmmmm, I'd love to see drive and mount set-up.

Great find wanger. That must have been a bike for the rich.
I hope you dont mind....I increased the size and contrast for easier
reading and view of the set up. Thanks for a look into history.

interesting old motor bike there

thinking that there must be an old Commando laying around somewhere

that was a lot of money back then -- company might not have been around long

so as to ride that Commando motor bike THING

Looks like the dollar to dollar conversion is a bit worse than I might have thought. Oh well.....doesn't matter a whole lot. But it is one more indication of just how good we've had it during, say , my adulthood; lot's of things are simply dirt cheap.

Notice the guy in the advert. Anyone who rides a motor assisted bicycle in office clothes is looking to lose his job.

If it has a 5 year warranty it may well have been worth the price tag. Most motorcycles don't come with a warranty that long unless you pay extra for it.
Cool stuff though.
