First post.. I have a subaru / robin ec04 2 stroke engine. And this forum looks like the right place to be. If I can't find it here I don't need it. I want to mount it on a Cruzbike conversion with V- Belt drive ring. Thanks for letting me in. Bill

Mountainman thanks for the reply.. Now I have to do some surfing to find a V- belt drive ring like on a whizzer bike. I think that is a V.. I'll send some pix as I progress.. Bill

Hello

Hi, good that you have found this place! the only drive sheave that I know of, is a Whizzer, and it is a 1/2" fractional HP type.

Mike

Welcome to the forum!

I'd be interested to know more of what you're planning to do and how you get along along with that. Curious, what's the displacement on that Robin?

Happy Vally I have the engine mounted on the bike frame but don't have the drive worked out yet. I need to get a drive sheave or ( drive ring ) & v-pully clutch yet from some where. The Robin is 40.2 cc 2HP rated. Do you think I'm on the right track?

Ok, that's the 40cc, I knew they make a 40 and a 50. That should scream.
And yeah, i think you're absolutely on the right track, at least from my point of view. I've done chain drive and friction drive and want to tackle a belt drive, just haven't come up with it yet either.

Of course there's the whizzer and gebe systems and a few DIYers trying to do belt drives hereabouts but I haven't seen much in results yet on that. There was one guy talking about welding a second bike rim to the real wheel and such but gearing was an issue, at least with direct drive since it would be like a 26" sheave.

How and where did you mount the engine? Got pics?
I want to do a rack mount on a full suspension mountain bike.

I'm going to contact Whizzer & Golden Eagle to see whats available, wth out buying the whole mounting kit. I haven't figured out how to post pix yet on this forum.. Bill

You say a Whizzer sheave will take a 1/2 V-belt? I wonder how much room is needed between the spokes and chain stays.. I have the engine mounted on the swing arms just infront of the back wheel. Thanks for the info.. Bill
