I know there have been posts about the Ktrak product in previous years but I'm wondering if anybody has actually motorized one of these. https://www.ktrakcycle.com/index.html

I'm seriously considering doing it but still haven't decided if I will go with a happy time motor with a SBP kit or if a Dax Titan would work.

Any suggestions for a bike and motor? So far, what reviews I have read online were not good because it required too much pedal effort. Not a problem if motorized...

Thoughts?

Good luck with buying a house. I just bought one. The next time I wil have any hope to build a Ktraks will be income tax refund time.

hey guys check out idabike or bike racing in alaska. they beef up bikes and ride all winter. they dont need no stinkin tracks.

Yeah, we've been house hunting for 3 months now with not much luck. There are tons of homes for sale including many abandoned homes that are short sales, bank owned, or forclosures. Unfortunately for us, sellers aren't too eager to sell at reduced price and are sticking to their overinflated prices.

Yeah, that's probably more like it, longer track with better rearward traction.

I tried a Ktrak demo at a LBS on day last year. I didn't go there looking for one but they had one to try out....just in the empty lot next door. The snow was pretty well tracked down and I thought there was traction issues just pedaling, you could easily just 'spin your wheels'. With a motor I think gearing and gaining traction would be a real challenge.

I think the Ktrack looks better, but the sno-runner would probably work better. It might be better to put 2 skis in front with the Ktrack.
