Hey guys.

Just starting out. Would love to get a bike together before the end of next year. I figured I should just go ahead and post my idea in here and see what you guys think.

I love the car scene but there is just something cool about motorcycles. I have always had imports and with my bike I want to build it to be a Euro bobber style like this:

That bike is AWESOME. I love that style. I want to delete the pedals and just run a motor. I dont know what to do to the motor but I would love to be able to cruise around with my buddies. Is it possible to get these things up to like 60mph or higher reliably and safely? If so this would be an awesome ride to work. I mean I know this wont ever be a motorcycle but I dont want it to be. I just want an awesome cruiser that can blow the retarded mopeds around here down. Im not wanting to race or anything just have a fast one on a budget( I have two car projects aswell)

What do you guys think? Where should I start?

Welcome to the forum... You should start first in designing and building a very good, sturdy, and strong steel frame. The fastest I can go on my motorized bicycle is 44mph. Almost got boxed by a truck. Make sure you have disc brakes and wear helmet always while riding. I'm still designing my own frame for next build, I hope it goes well.

Welcome to MBc.
I also love the look of that Trumph.
60 on a bicycle is probably exceeding the safty limits of the bicycle.

What I plan on doing is starting off with a frame I already haveand then modifying it to my needs. I will have to do some research on the dis brakes but thats sounds like a great idea. maybe a shift kit and custom paint. I believe the frame I'm going to use will be from a bmx bike or an old peguot touring bike I have( though that would be a cool board track racer style bike.) and then modifying it.

figured it probably would be. I guess I will just be doing this one for fun this year and maybe by like 2010-2011 I can start on a real bobber.

Bobbers are my favorite bikes too. Its better if your first build is a straight forward installation; like a steel cruiser or a diamond framed mountain bike. Once you have all the little installation and maintenance things figured out, you can pursue speed and coolness.
LOL. Gamecock or Tiger?

Gamecock! Though I root for Clemson against other teams too, they are at least from my state. I live in Myrtle Beach, is there anyone around my area that has an MB? I would really appreciate a test drive before I get myself in to something I will never use. I mean if I save my money and just do a conversion on a real bike I wouldnt really need this because I dont have anywhere to ride it.

My wife is a Gamecock. She was a student when Heismann winner George Rogers played.

Hey Sheep,
I live down the road in Georgetown. Old Trumpy enthusiast as well. Starting a new installation in about one week. You are welcome to check it out. Glad to know another member that's close by.
