What color lights can we run on our bikes?

Blue lights

Hi Mab, well I can tell you a little true story, when in High School, my Dad had a set of "Blue Dot" taillights on his 1940 Ford coupe.

As he was sitting on the side of the road, after being pulled over, the officer asked for Drivers License, Dad says, "why am I pulled over"? the officer says "you have cracked taillight lenses"!

Dad says, "they looked ok this morning sir". Officer says, "well, just let me look again, now", and walks to the rear of the car, and taps the blue-dot lense hard wih his nightstick, walks to passenger side and KRACK clicks the other lense with the nightstick.

Now he walks back up and says, "no son, they are both cracked, I just checked"! He writes a fix-it-ticket, and away he goes.

The High School kids knew they were not allowed to run "Blue Dots" but they still did! And this happened to others the same way.

Well my Dad told me once that a cop stopped him because he was speeding and asked him "Where's the Fire?" and he said "In your eyes officer."

Low glo lighting is not a major crime around here. If a cop tried that with me though I would as they say "have their badge".

sure sounds good on paper -- but

yes I admit mabman

to "have their badge" sure sounds good on paper -- but
it's a very hard THING to truly do in real life
these pooolice stick together like GLUE

I have been watching (up close) an ongoing case for a little over 5 years
there were witnesses to the facts (man beat down in cold blood)
seen on news tv in Kansas City -- shone for over a week
and I must say -- not an easy road for the innocent one harmed by pooolice

ride that THING

You have a point there, they would LIE to protect themselves against any wrongdoing on their part. As I would know, I was assaulted and thrown on the ground for "not cooperating" and resisting arrest, and I'm stuck with court costs, and I did nothing but question his actions.

So far so good, just avoid blue lights, and others seem fine. I've already been told about people noticing all the lights I have, so they are working. Also, less car issues at night due to the lights - they actually see me better at night than in the day now!!!!!

Hi Wheelbender, best not be running red on the front of anything on the street unless it is emergency vehicle with exempt plates!
