I was just updating my post that lists all the things I bought for my MB project and was amazed at how much money can be spent on what I thought would be a simple project. It got me wondering....who's got the most expensive MB and what drove up the cost? For me it's been the accessories. Everytime I turn around there is some cool gadget or gizmo to buy for my MB project.
How much do you have invested in your project?
Feel free to post pictures to support your reply.

Mine will be approximately $1,300 when all is said and done.

sure would not be Mountainman and proud of it

bicycle motor and all only cost me around 750 dollars
for what I believe to be a sound set up -- not a bad price
as we have seen around here (on site) in many cases you truly do get what you pay for.

I don't know where the link is
think that HoughMade posted it somewhere
the brand new motor bike (THE KIND) being built today for around 10 - 12 thousand each
now that's the most expensive, beautiful motor bike THING I have seen
I am sure that someone will dig up that site -- picture

back when I was a very small little mountain boy
any little motor of any kind that would push or pull me along on anyTHING was GREAT.....

it's not about the money as we ride those motor bike THINGS

Who cares, its not about how much you spend but how much fun you have. I'm sure if one a vendor rebranded a HT engine with a Mercedes benz logo and charged 3x for it, folks would buy it just to show off how much they spent.

I like the way you think!!! :D

shhhhh... don't give 'em any ideas.... :devilish:

In all fairness, what's the least spent, on a functioning motored bike?
(I may have a winner)
Maybe that's a whole 'nother thread.....?

sorry for high-jacking.

I have about a "Grand" in my BikeE powered with a Staton/Mitsu/Friction-drive.

I started with a junker....needed to be stripped and refitted with basic parts....then the fancy accessories....now the motor kit....its getting costly to say the least, but its a hobby....fun. So what price can you put on fun and relaxation. If $$$$ were the only factor, well, get a wallyworld cruiser and stick a $125. motor on it and bobs your uncle. You are done. But where is the hobby in that. I will eventually have a working MB....but it will evolve over time and be an ongoing proposition. Thats just me though.

I don't even want to think about that...I'm afraid I might win.

EXACTLY!

I have twin Mitsubishi engines on "The Iron Dragon", so double the cost of normal.

I just created "The Dragon Lady", a SECOND twin-engined monster so another double-cost.

I swear the THIRD twin-engined monster "The Two-Headed Dragon" will be on the cheap. Almost-new bike, two pocket bike engines and make-shift gravity clutches. DIY engine drives, because that's where I spend most of my $$ on.

These sound so cool. I appreciate anything DIY since im only stumble around DIY guy want to be. But I get plenty of help when I ask for it.

So far It sounds like you take the prize. Sunny Hawaii, you stink, J/K

Where's The Storm?

Yesterday there was a storm alert and ALL Hawaii government workers got to stay home on administrative leave...

WITH PAY! Not vacation pay, not sick-leave pay but FREE pay!

For 32 years I worked IN the storm with the Phone company. Now, as a government worker I type and file papers INSIDE a 5-story air-conditioned building and they tell me to stay home because of a storm they predicted would come. I forgot a phone number on my desk, so I call the office and the secretary and clerk answered. They volunteered to work yesterday. I asked the boss if he wanted me to come in(all the while praying "Please let me stay home!")

Boss said to stay home WITH PAY!

So I got to work on my bike, buy a raincoat, do some chores...

It rained some, a little wind...

but the storm never came!!!!!!

And right now it's 730am, 64 degrees and a BEAU-TI-FUL!!! day in Hawaii.

Normally, it'd be about 74 degrees right now. It's cool but I like it. It was cold last night because I only used one blanket.

I think I'll take a ride on my bicycle right now.

I'll be marching in The Martin Luther King parade on Monday. Watch for me. I'll be the guy with the ukulele, tee shirt, shorts and the Vietnam Veteran cap. :)
