Snow on the brain..I may be crazy...

as far as the model glue, inhalants kill more first-time users than cocaine, heroin, and ectasy combined.

anyway, as far as the snow machine..."Make it so, Number One." :)

i think you can do it.

I have that same engine with electric start, new, sitting in the box. May as well go electric start so you could have lights and handwarmers. What an idea. I wonder if you would even need the trike. You could devise a monster ride with just 2 snow machines.
Cool idea!

Can't see why you'd bother?

I'm not really interested but looking through craigslist for my area earlier today there are only about a zillion snowmobiles for sale right now....machines ready to go in the snow.

I'm thinking a lot of people need the cash.

Same reason I didn't buy a motorcycle.

That sums it up. I almost wrote the same thing as Happy Valley did..... why would you want a snow tri.....?

Then i remembered an email i sent my partner that was identical to your post. It was about a push trailer. I sent pics and wrote; take one of these> and connect one of these> and then hook it to this and youve got an amazing bike pusher! he wrote back OMG yes! youve got it!

People have asked me why don't you just get a moped/motorcycle? Because its so **** much cooler thats why! (well there are utilitarian reasons why :) ) but...basically because I wanted this not a friggin moped and I already ride motorcycles!

Why do we do this? Because its so **** much fun thats why.....:giggle:

(dont ask mountain climbers why they do it)

Right then, but you'd like to have an idea it would at least work. You might try to ride one first w/out a motor in the snow.

Somewhere floating around here is a thread on the Ktrak. I posted my experience trying a Ktrak, without a motor of course. I was far from impressed with the thing. Traction was a major issue and I see them as being basically a downhill ski bike.

Your not crazy. Hough, I say DO IT! If you can visualize it, it can be done. The only thing that
would hold anyone back (besides the money) would be themselves. And they alone, saying it
cant be done.

That would be the coolest winter ride here and still say its a bike. I dig anyone who thinks
outside of the box. Keep imagining and dreaming. These are my favorite threads. graucho

That bike is extra clean. As much as I want a recumbent trike, I think I'd rather have one like that.

Cool thing about snow-made vehicles is that you wouldn't have to worry about being "street legal". But they prolly have extra snow laws for you yanks.

Got 8 more inches last night (that's what sh....nevermind)

About the same over the next 24 hours. I know this wouldn't be a deep snow machine, but there is no end of places to ride it. I'm thinking the big engine- maybe 6.5 hp might be enough, I'll have to look at the weight differential- If I don't save weight, I'll just go with more power.

A Comet Torque converter may be in order, but I'm thinking gearing for a 20 mph top speed would be plenty. Go power would be great...stop power less so.

This may be my summer project in preparation for winter 2009-2010.
