I have been lurking around this forum for awhile now and have noticed alot of excitement about Pusher Trailer builds. My question is how are these pushers classified in regards to being used with a bicycle. Are they considered part of the bike or it's own seperate identity.Do the same rules apply to these Pushers or are they differnt than a Motoredbicycle.I've done alot of searching on this forum and have really found no information regarding this.Maybe I'm looking in the wrong spots.

Maybe the Motorbike Guru's can help me out.

Thanks for all your input in advance.:D

I think that in most places they are treated just as a motorized bicycle
so local and or state and Fed limits such as horse power ect would still be in effect

here in Calif years ago a friend with a B&S trailer set up
received a ticket
he went to court and the judge dismissed it

those trailer motor bike THINGS are cool

Thanks Mountainman for your qiuck reply, that's what I kind of suspected in regards to my question.I really enjoy reading your input on this forum, and your poems too.:D:D

I would bet that motortrailers are illegal. At least based on what I have read in Michigan law, there does not seem to be a provision for a motortrailer.

If you do a search there is alot of discussion on one of the post about this issue. It all comes down to the size of the engine, but alot of us are trying to get away with what we can. Good Luck

it will not bring any heat on you if

you call your state main office DMV -- I have done this here many times

tell them exactly what you wish to do
size of engine --- on a small trailer behind a bicycle
ask them straight out if it's legal
if by chance they say yes
try to get their name branch location etc

it's a shot -- hopefully not in the dark

seems like -- oh no here we go
if you have a valid drivers license
with a small motor on a little trailer
would a pooolice person give you a ticket ?

that would be a bored pooolice person
and they do become bored at times

ride that thing

Mountainman,

I will have to check with the local RCMP and find out what the scoop is.

I usually ride a 1982 P200e Vespa when it's nice enough too.The 200 stands for cc's.You have to have a motorcycle lic. and needs to be insured up here in Canada.I'm trying to find something else to ride that does not need to have insurance on it and still be legal.

SO I CAN RIDE THAT THING.:giggle::giggle:
