In Norway they motorize the streets-not bikes

man oh man -- guess I haven't seen everyTHING yet -- thank God

that's very very cool
one could get some important mountain parts hurt on that THING if not careful

I like that bicycle helper THING

Do they also pay for your medical expenses if you hurt yourself using it.:D:D

My leg hurts just watching that video.

An innovative variation on the cable car. And they get an "A" for effort.

But that looks like a broken leg waiting to happen.

I'm sure such a thing can not be built in the USA because of the liability issue. That makes me wonder if the Norwegians are handling that better than we are.

Yes -- I was thinking that the one out of several thousand lifts
and someone happens to get a pants leg caught in that thing
it would be a terrible drag of the body to the top
got to be some built in safty devices that are not visible in picture
maybe at the top of hill right before that thing would suck one in
last chance -- kill button

bgw
thinking that it's very hard to sue the goverment over there
should be more of that here -- ride at your own risk
sounds good anyway

I would be careful riding that lift thing -- but would love the thrill

That's an absolutely great idea. Off hand, San Francisco needs at least two, Quebec needs one, so does Oregon City, Oregon. Oregon City already has a public elevator from the lowest level of old downtown up to the 2nd level, but there are two more really steep stretches before you get to the top - the Molalla Ave hill is a maneater on a bike - it is at least as steep as the slope in that video and twice as long.. For all of that, it is the least steep of any of the roads down off the top.

I know, I've ridden all over that town in years past. If I were in SW Portland today and had to get to Mulino or Molalla by bike, I'd go 20 miles out of the way through Canby before I'd tackle that hill.
