Clutch problems again

The site where I bought the clutch recommended using the gear oil...But I believe that experience is the best teacher....so I will drain the gear oil and grease the gears.....It always made sense to me that oil would make a clutch slip...but I went with the recommendations.

The only reliable advice is on this Forum. Not long ago the Birddog site was telling people to use wet gearboxes months after us members had conclusively gone down that path and rejected it. Hopefully they've amended that info but we can also tell you that the clutch pads can take a good bit of slipping and once you clean them of oil you should find it works very well. While you cleaning the clutch & GB you might also try Cheetoh's really useful idea to resovle clutch chatter & clanging by drilling small holes around the clutch:

It really does help cos I tried it myself and is another example that the people who ride the bikes know a lot more than the people who sell them.
Admittedly the people who sell them know heaps more than the people who make the kits. That is why this Forum is such a great resource and can save you a lot of heartache. Pity the manufacturers don't read what we write but their tills are rattling so fast they haven't got time.

New GB's Coming! I know there are several "American" gearboxes nearing the market. Soon there will be options!
