Yesterday was the annual 'Seattle Old Bike Swap', an event I anxiously await and attend every year. This year a few good deals were to be had and attendance was bigger than ever.
This year was a business trip for me to restock my shop- no personal projects- and I found a few good things. Here is my personal favorite score:
A Pre-War Clevland Welding cycle, complete but for tires and 1" pitch Chain...

Whew ! Is that a " Valiant-Camino ," hauling it ??
Warning: slightly off topic post...
It is- We call it the "Surf City"- '63 Valiant Wagon w/ roof chopped. We are getting ready to chop out the pans, weld in the subframe connectors, weld in new floorpans and other cross bracing; and I just picked up a wrecked '64 wagon with a good top so we are going to redo the roofline as well. I've all the linkages and manifolds/carb from a 'super six' 2-bbl slant-6 all machined and ready for installation, new timing set, and all new gaskets. I've got a rear end all rebuilt and ready to swap, and complete front end that I just started derusting and patching (cutting out the rust and welding in patch panels) and will completely repaint, been working on the custom aluminum 'nerf bars' for the front bumper, and a rear bumper chopped from a '64 Internantional truck...
Bucket seats fro a Dodge A-100 van are all recovered and ready for install, center console from a '69 Dart GTS but still need to locate a Dart GT that I can cut the tunnel from for the console and shifter mounting brackets, shifter, and linkages.
It's a lot of work, but she's a great shop vehicle for my business, and a Kool Kustom ride to bomb around town in! My buddy did the initial chop and stuff, then got into another ride/project (I traded him my 1961 Valiant Wagon for some of his upholstery work...) and so he sold this to me to fund that hot rod. Runs, drives, stops. Lights work. Not a bad deal...
Now to get back on topic- as you can see, a bike/motoredbike (or three) fits perfectly in the 'bed' of this rig, and it's a great rolling advertisement!!!
Sorry for the off topic nature, but I had to answer- I LOVE this car!!!

These older bikes are getting harder to find every year. People are starting to realize there value. I think You were wise to buy it. Great future ride.

You are absolutely correct! Even the middleweights I started out collecting have gone way up in value and scarcity.
Most of what I scored this year are pre-war parts; I also snagged a pre-war boys 24" Cleveland Welding frame with crank and chainring. Honestly, I was hoping to find more in the way of wheelsets and fenders, but they were just not to be had at a price I felt reasonable.
So Whatchagonnado, right?!?
I bartered and bargained, as is the usual communication at this event, so I came away from it with the feeling that I did fairly well, and re-stocked much of what I had used up in my business endeavors. I feel pretty good about it. Now to get busy and get some more ready to put up for sale for the riding season...:D As I'm sure you're aware this event is as much about socializing and seeing old friends as it is about buying and selling, so as always a great time was had!

Rif, nice find, really neat car. I've always heard a lot about the Seattle Swap, but being on the other side of the continent makes it difficult for me to attend. Even the Copake Swap (on April 17 - the day before the auction) is a bit out of reach for me. I guess I'll just have to wait until October, when the Trexlertown Swap occurs. I've always done well at Trex, having picked up a number of classic ballooners at reasonable prices there.
