HOWDOO!

We have 3 motorcycle dealers and 2 bicycle shops up here and nobody has any small tool bags! Incredible!

Even the gigantic Chapparal Motorsports Emporium, with a store the size of Macy's featuring hundreds of Motorcycles, Quads, Seadoos, and Fishing Boats, with a sprawling accessories department, has no small tool bags!

What I need is a bag about the size of a large Burrito, about 8" wide and 4" diameter, that I can strap to my handlebars or fork tubes in place of the Whizzer medallion plate.

I need just enough capacity for a Screwdriver, Pliers, small Crescent Wrench, a few Allen Wrenches, my Bill of Sale, and my Cellular Telephone.

What do you guys use, and what is your source, please?

Thanks...
HAL

Here is the bag I use. It is made buy the same manufacture as the saddle bags Whizzer sells. I can not remember the name off hand.

HEY RYAN:

That's a nice bag, but way too large for my needs. My cruising is within a 5mile radius of home on desert backroads, and I'm only gone for 30 minutes at a time on these local 10-mile trips.

That's a beautiful bike it's mounted on...I like those fender tips!

Hal, here's the one I have hanging on the handlebars of my Whizzer: http://www.bikeworldusa.com/product_info.php/cPath/124_25_112/products_id/628
It works well as a toolbag for carrying a few things, but being leatherette it's not really heavy-duty.
Here's a similar one, but in brown (and it looks like it might be leather): http://www.bikeworldusa.com/product_info.php/cPath/124_25_112/products_id/1566
Here's a heavy-duty leather one: http://www.jcwhitney.com/RAIDER-TOOL-ROLL-AND-BAG/GP_2011875_N_111+10211+600014597_10111.jcw
Attached is a photo of the first bag on the handlebars of "Thumper".

I go to Goodwill. Check out the fanny packs and/or zippered appointment books. Just rip the calendar stuff out of the appointment book.

I have a set of sockets and spark plug wrench, tube patches loctite in an altoid box, stubby cresent wrench, leatherman, 3 metric wrenches (for 6 sizes the kind that they used to put in plastic rolls on motorcycles) a pawn shop item, a set of allen wrenches screwdriver with multiple heads, bike tire "irons". I am trying to think what else. All this fits in the appointment book, I sort of gutted it so that it did not have one of the thick covers, sewed it back together. It also has a pocket on the outside for a cell phone. I paid $.50 for it at a garage sale. If I only wanted the appointment book I probably would rivet/sew/whatver a strap on with quick disconnects, velcro, or buckles. to lash it to the handlebars. I have it in a fanny pack the casino gave me that is under my seat. This holds the "kit" plus a spare tube, 2.5 oz of oil, clear safety googles, a set of open finger gloves, with room for other stuff. I put some rings loops on the pack and ran some latigo from the seat with buckles.

My other bike has a "nose cone" one of those under the tube things that I mounted to stick out in the front on the head tube. It is just velcroed on. Same stuff in it. I am thinking about making my own for under the tube out of leather.

All of the tools are cheapo stuff I am willing to "lose"

HEY CHRIS:

That Whitney bag looks great, but I only have a 5" section of straight handlebar for attaching, and my fork tubes are only 4-1/2" apart. A tool bag that has mounting straps not exceeding 5" apart will work.

Hal, the one from Whitney would be too long. I estimate the straps being around eight inches apart. The ones from BikeWorldUSA.com should fit though. They appear to be 4 to 4 1/2 inches apart.

HEY CHRIS:

I was referring to the Whitney tool BAG, not the tool ROLL.

The straps on the bag look much closer together than 8"...what do you think?

Tool Bags

I sell some nice leather Tool Bags. IF I don't get too busy at the Whiz-in this weekend I will try to get some pics and measurements.
