Well, New member here, my name is Smokey. I have been pokeimg around your list for the last few days and like it very much.
There are several reasons for me to join, but the main reason is that it appears that I have just become retired or at the very least unemploied for some time to come. So, now I will be able to spend the time doing many of the things that I have been putting off for a long while and building motorized bicycles is high on my list. My Ol'Ady the Mouse wants me to build her something to be able to ride back and forth to work and this will give ne an excuse to play around out in the shop.
This brings my to the point of telling what my skill level and ability to use tools. I think that what I am supposed to do, is it not? I have been building and riding motorcycles and scotters since 1955, started when I was 10. Way back in the "day" I had a chopper shop, but now just have the shop out back. The shop has most of the fabrication tools that I would need to build what I want, hand tools, power tools, MIG and stick welders, compresser and such. For the last 15 years I have been the tool repair and parts man for the largest truck body companies in the Nation (Morgan Corp).
As far as my location, I live in Reading Pa., about an hour out of Philly and in the middle of Amish country. So, bicycles are a big thing around here, the Amish just don't have motors on theirs.
I also either Own or Moderate quite a few chopper related motorcycle lists on the net and would be more than willing to help answer any questions that I can. I also hope to learn as much as the group is willing to share about motorized bicycles.
