I've been called "lazy" for riding a motorized bike numerous times. They think I got the motor because I am too lazy to pedal. This is an outrage! I bought the bike because I needed something to put the motor on!

If someone calls me "lazy" for riding a motorized bike, I ask them if they tell every car driver, motorcycle rider, bus passenger or airplane flyer that they are lazy too.

I've been called "lazy" too many times to count...never bike related, but.....

Insinuated, in so many words, and it's funny to me because I'm car-free by choice.

I had a bike snob ask...nicely....one day, saying:
"No offense but why mess up one of man's greatest inventions with a smoky, noisy gas engine?" ( R/S EHO35 )

I replied: Look at it this way, one less car on the road and at my age w/out the helper this bike would be corroding in the garage.

so the bike is the great invention and not the gas motor?lol jack***

I wouldn't disagree....I think I AM kinda' lazy. Hehehe. I ride the bike mostly for fun, not for exercise.

While doing my build, I visited a local bike shop for some parts I needed and I happened to mention I was motorizing my bike. The staff acted all snotty and one guy asked me:
"Why don't you just motorize your legs?" I would have thought they would embrace a new potential market or product. Or at the very least, been curious to see if they could make a profit on what I was doing...If I were in their business, I certainly would be. A closed mind can be difficult to open. Don't take it personally, ignorance is every where...like litter.

the guy at our local bike shop (who just got done finishing my wheel) came out and looked it all over respectively lol of course, in my town he sells almost everyone bikes. And he could have saw this as some sort of competition to his buisness..... which i fully intend to do. Build MB's out of yard sale bikes ready to ride! much money made

I agree with the other guy. The bicycle is a greater invention than the internal combustion engine.

Bicycles will still be rolling on the face of this Earth long after we've depleted all the Earth's oil. And as has been shown with graphs and pretty pictures and what not.... the only thing even remotely close to as efficient as a bicycle is a bus. And I wouldn't call the bus the greatest invention by any means.

they should make a few city busses pedal assisted. wouldnt that be cool. (of course the less people the more dependant on petrol, but at rush hour imagine 55 people pedalling to hold between stop speed while the motor idles to hold momentum up?
