<<< finally finished my 80cc felt cruiser >>>

Finally finished my project motor bike. Have to say it is one of the funnest things I have ever driven. I get looks like I am in a ferrari... people really trip out. I made a few mods most easy to notice are the filter, plug, and plug wire... but I also port matched the intake mani to the intake port and replaced all the old cheap chinese bolts. I have a nuvinci cvp hub ready to install I just wanted to work out all the bugs first. Dont know if the port matching helped but it has a lot of top end power. Here it is hope you enjoy... sorry for the crappy pics, will take some better ones tomorrow. I appreciate any comments, thanks.

I don't think you will find many interested in machining that part for $30. It's all about volume. Bikes are inexpensive because they are made in vast quantities by the cheapest labor possible. Same with the motors. Custom motor mounts for a specific bike and application? Not so much.

I see people say things like "$200 for that! That is the price of a motor!" The problem with this statement is that they are taking things out of context. The motors are incredibly cheap for what you get with them. Anything made in North America is going to cost a magnitude more.

Sometimes I think the Wallmart generation is clueless when it comes to the real value of things. Even if you were to simply copy that existing motor mount. (Thus unfairly benefitting from someone else's work.) it would take you several hours. Now add the cost of materials and amortize the value of the equipment into your work. We will keep it simple and forget about all the other costs of running a business. At 30 bucks you are already paying the person less than minimum wage. That may fly in China but it isn't going to work here.
