I need a front hub brake for my Felt 1903 and a much wider pedal crank to clear the Huasheng engine on Staton engine mount plate.

What is the best source for these....I want a quality (strong) wide pedal crank at a reasonable price and front drum brake that works well and stops the bike quicklyl.

bicycle-engines.com sells the wide spindles with their kits but I don't know if you can get one separately. Lots of online bike places to get front hubs.

You have to ask yourself whether you want to retain the ability to pedal long distances. If so, I would not go with a shorter crank. I have a shorter crank- yes, from a kid's 16" bike (1 piece), but my bike was always designed to be a sort of vintage motorcycle replica where the only pedalling is from a dead stop.

If you want to use your bike like I use mine, the shorter crank works fine. If the crank is 3 piece, many places sell cranks of a variety of lengths.

agreed on the kiddie cranks...
I had short ones, they made it very difficult to pedal the girls/trailer
I was only suggesting a source
if you are proficient with a torch, you can bend you long cranks yourself
(I had a friend do mine )

Do you need the hub or the whole wheel? I found a Sturmey Archer drum brake on a 2.125 chrome steel wheel with 12 gauge spokes for $79 plus shipping on huskybicycles.com. It comes with everything except for the brake lever according to the description.
