My first build was a cheap beach, just to learn about the engines and setup. It was fine for putting around on the Air Force Base I lived on, and I rode it to work many months, putting almost 2000 miles on it. It topped in the low 30's. engine screaming.

I met 5-7 Heaven, and his 'dragon lady.' We wanted to have some adventures on the Island, but my slow bike was holding us back. I had a very nice Trek 4300 pedal bike that I commuted with for years, and decided to go for a faster, lighter bike.

I ordered a new 66cc slant head engine kit from zoombicycles, and a shift kit the same day.

Bolted it together, and have been having a blast! The bike really just seemed to break in the motor riding with 5-7 last weekend. It started winding up like never before.

With no wind, on the flats, I roll easy at 43-44MPH. It takes winding it out in each gear to get there. 35-37MPH is an easy pull. 45 is top of 6th gear, I still have two more to go. I hit 53 MPH on a downhill with 5-7 last weekend. I had some people express shock at my speeds, but remember we are at sea level in Hawaii. I also confirmed the bike speedo by GPS, they match exactly.

The motor is all stock, just a NGK plug and a wire. I order an expansion pipe and air cleaner this week, I hope to pickup some torque with that to deal with the winds better. A stron headwind knocks be back to 32MPH.

Jack put a 49cc Pocket Rocket engine on a GEBE belt set up, with 14 tooth gear, and his speedometer pegged him at 54 mph, later a State Trooper clocked him at 52.

The engine auctioned for a little over $100, but the seller had to have $400 in the future sales.

The bike is a California stretch cruiser, originally a 7 speed, but he coasterized it because of the Worksman hub he had on hand, with bearings double the size of standard bearings.

When I rode it, I bumped 48 a couple of times, but coasted in at about 45.

It was dark and I was leaving my neighborhood when my cousin pulled up next to me in his moms saab. I asked if he wanted to "race" so we took off. He stayed next to me while I got it up to speed and then he yelled out over my other cousin in the passenger seat...

"your going 45!!!"

I could have squeezed a little more out of it but due to the fact I had no brakes and I was coming up to a four way stop occupied by two big a** trucks I had to let off.

I think I can do 50 in overdrive with pedaling.

Beach cruiser, 7 speed, titan motor, scooter guy mount.
Tucked down, WOT driving throught a radar trap..........41mph.

I barely break 40mph on the flats with no wind.:giggle:

My twin Mitsubishis are SCREAMING at 10,100 rpm which is way past their redlines. That's with ADA S1 expansion chambers, 1.5" friction rollers and a very lean condition. Two Walbro WYK-58 carbs being installed, should raise hp/tq a smidge and go faster.:geek:

:unsure:What I REALLY need are larger-diameter friction spindles to LOWER engines' rpms to a more usable powerband.

What's your setup which pushes you so fast?
