I called David Staton yesterday about 3 pm, to order some parts to overhaul my chain drive. By 4:30 pm, I had a UPS tracking number in my email. Talk about service but that's not on topic. While I talked to David, he called my attention to a new product on his web site, that runs engine power through the dérailleur gears.

He also told me that he is working on a similar setup for his outside drive gearbox, that drives a freewheel on the left side of the pedal crank. He said he would forward info as soon as he has it ready. Sounds very interesting!

I would think he's a vendor on that specific item but it's his plans to create a version for the Staton gearbox that intrigues me. The rear dérailleur - engine drive setup is gaining popularity and would add much versatility to any bike. My two speed setup is great, 90% of the time, I'm in top gear but on a long steep hill, dropping from 18.71/1 to 23.08/1 is nice.

Just saw this BIMOTO kit posted on Staton-inc.com site. Looks like a definite player in the crank driven arena. Of course, I want one! Anyone have experience with BIMOTO?

limited engine choices and power due to using a 54mm clutch

not going to sell very many of those at $1000

Bimoto made very nice motorcycles, Italian
they may not still be in business and its probably a different company

I agree but that's not what I'm excited about. I'm looking at a Staton produced, freewheel crank / chain ring set that has an additional freewheel on the left side to receive input from the Staton O/S drive gear box. That makes a six speed rack mount on my full suspension with my R460. Supposed to be in the works, let everyone know when I hear something.
