so, have any of you ever worked with a bike with the frame of kate moss? my engine is canted literally at a 90 degree angle and im going to have to cut the muffler to stop it from being wedged into my rear wheel. so, before i take the plunge to do that, is it ok for a 4stroke? and is it ok to have the engine horizontal to the ground?

Is the oil pan at the bottom?

As I understand the RS 35's, the oil pan is filled when it first drips out the mouth, and if it leans too much one way or the other, you would be under/overfilled, as it were.

i dont mean to sound too dumb, but what does an oil pan look like? i have no experience with engines at all so im pretty clueless

EDIT: oh i think i see what you mean..the poening is sticking up now, instead of sideways..imagine the engine, but the piston is facing the front of the bike instead of straight up

What kind of engine is it? I heard there is a Honda 4 stroke that can be mounted in any position (wonder how they did that) but every other 4 stroke that has oil in the bottom needs to be set-up so the oil is located there.

the only markings on it say 'skyhawk', but it look like a really good honda copy.

What engine are you using?

Some engines, like my Honda GXH50, the Huasheng 142 varients and the Greyhound 79.5cc from Harbor Freight must be kept basically upright or the oil will not get where it needs to be and it will seize. Some engines, like the Robin-Subaru 25 and 35 cc engines as well as the Honda 25 and 35 cc engines can be operated in pretty much any position.

OK- does it look like this? Cause if it does, that engine is the huasheng and must be operated upright like shown.
