I have almost got my bike ready to go, but my spark plug will not fit into the boot that was supplied with the kit. Are all of the kits like that or did they put in the wrong spark plug. I am thinking about going to an auto parts store to check if they have a boot that will fit.

You will have to be a lot more specific if you want help. Which kit with which engine? What name and number plug? On some plug boots, you have to remove the cylindrical nut on the top of the plug and then the boot slides over the threads. The threads help hold it on by giving more friction to a small clip in the boot. On some boots, the boot sort of clicks onto the cylindrical nut and a spring clip inside the boot holds it on. Try it both ways, whichever way works is right. It takes just a little push to go on. Don't force it hard or you will ruin/bend the clip.

If you are using a chinese engine kit, I suggest that you go ahead & replace the boot with an automotive type. The hard plastic kit boots are junk & will fail. The plug wire is 7 mm.

Have you looked up inside the boot? If the metal clip that fits over the plug and the hole in the boot don't line up you will never get it on. You can turn and move the boot on the wire till they are in alignment. srdavo is right. If you have a chinese made engine, replace the boot with a better quality one.

Most of these China kits come with both a crappy plug and plug wire. If you choose to keep the stock wire and plug, and the plug will not insert INTO the plug boot....Remove the top of the plug (it screws on), then try to insert it in the boot.

I have a grubee skyhawk 48cc. I already tried to unscrew the top of the plug and put it in the boot, but it was still loose and didn't seem right. Im just going to bring my plug into auto parts store and see if they have a boot that will fit.

Stock Plug + stock boot = loose plug wire. I change all of mine to this type of clip.

blue arrow, unscrew wire. red is where I cut the boot off, slid on new boot and installed plug clip. Pull wire back through till clip in place.

Yes the stock boot will not be completing tight on the plug,it will appear to be a little loose but it works great for me.
That was the same way (loose fitting) on 4 engines I bought for builds. One of the first things I change out since I had trouble with number 1 engine..... 10 miles from home...but not a problem to fix on the road.
