Honda 35 vs. Robin 33

Back in 2006-7, I read the Robin outdid the Honda in most specs.

But more importantly, Robin-Subaru warranties the units for OUR usage, while Honda only warranties there own brands and/or approved generators, pressure-washers, mowers et al.

Every "off use",do-it-yourselfers are on their own.

edit: fyi here is a previous debate. most liked the RS cylinder sleeve, and Honda's performance on small engines went down iirc in the late '90's when they moved production to Thailand and altered some cylinder specs.

Unless somebody has both Subaru and Honda and tested them for a while, any opinion which is "better" is worthless.

I bought Subaru cause it was available and cheaper.
Very happy with it.

I can not speak for Honda since I do not own it.

I believe they are both great and durable engines, one can not go wrong going either way.

I've owned both and had both on a dyno.

There is no sleeve in the Robin, its a plain aluminum bore just like the Honda if anyone has noticed Robin has corrected their website.Probably after being hit with a truth in advertising complaint.

That statment is not even relevant the GX35 wasn't even in production until 2003.The GX35 power ratings dropped after rejetting the carb for certain markets.Has nothing to do with cylinder specs.

Dude,

I don't own shares of either brand, so it makes **** difference to me what he buys.

But I don't see where Honda is superior, except it weighs a tad less. I know they are subbing out all their small engine production, to Thailand and now Communist China.

Maybe the Honda Label is printed in Japan, I dunno.

I haven't heard of Robin-Subaru using that cheap labor gimmickry, (yet).

Horsepower, dimensions, warranties, number of satisfied RS-EH035 MBers....in all the categories that count, Honda is NOT any type of gold standard in the micro biz.

btw: Subaru's site:

hhmmmm..... I'm still not sure which one to buy. I have a Honda 50 on a tandem and love it. I'm leaning toward the Honda, just because I've owned several Honda's over my life time and have been happy with them. Trying to keep a open mind....

They are building the engines in their own plant, Honda's Thailand plant is world class, not subbing out, none of the mini four stroke engines are being built in china.
