I am considering putting one of these on a Morini engine. Yet having to guess really that it will not last. My main concern is that at 6' 250 pounds + bike + general cargo I would probably be fooling myself. totalling 360 pounds at times

I would be playing with the motors power a little. [having fun] No off roading really. Just using it as a go getter. So just would like to know from folks with experience what they think of there Nuvinci hub. Should I give it a try?

Also what weight is your creations carrying? How many miles are on the hub? Would it be recommended or not? Is it worthy? Thanks!

I have 2 NuVinci's but have yet to run them.

Still trying to find to finish at least 1 build.

Just can't find the time.

From what I read they can take 95 ft. lbs. of torque I think.

Can't remember. To me it could drive a Volkswagon but thats

just my opion...POPS

Keep in mind that engine makers report torque at the engine. For the hub, you would want to know the torque at the hub. For instance, my Honda engine puts out 2 ft lbs. at the crank. If my total reduction is 18:1, there is 36 ft. lbs. at the driven wheel. Still well below 95 ft lbs., but I would want to compare my own engine's output and reduction to the hub's ratings just to make sure.

Wish I had more Nuvinci specific info. for you. Good luck!

If I compare that to a torque wrench. My legs are putting out 200 foot pounds and above. Car tire lug nuts are say 80 foot pounds to say 125. None commercial class vehicle. Ever use a foot to brake a lug nut loose? Shoot I weigh 240 pounds. Maybe I am not figuring the relationship with diff size sprockets?

I am a little confused on that?

I have one with over 1000 miles on it. I haven't been easy on it by any means whatsoever.

My verdict... bulletproof. Cant hurt it. Not even with 360+ lbs. Guarantee your chain will break first. The only way I could see breaking one of these things would be to put a giant 6.5 or 11 hp motor on it. The 80cc 2 stroke doesn't even put down enough torque to use all the gearing... its not even close to strong enough to break one of these things. It will give you an infinite range of gearing from slow as he!! up the steep a** hill to fast as s*** on flat ground and everywhere in between.

It is soooo worth the $300+ price tag.

Very cool to know! My Morini will be about 6+ horse power after some modes. Its stock 5.8 rated right now. Thanks for sharing! Here is a link to The creation I am playing with. Be real nice to run it all BMX chains on the final drives! Pretty exited about the Idea!

the manufacturer recommended limit is 7 hp... I would be cautious of anything more than that.

Just ordered the whole wheel. Can't wait! The said Morini will not be up to 5.8 or higher even with mods till about 11,000 RPM. At which point the bike is under momentum. This set should be righteous.

I shall report back when I finally get it and get a chance to play!
