hi i am new here just have a few questions. i just picked up a felt iron cross 400 bike with a Chinese engine kit that was never installed. the main thing i would like to no is will the sprocket work with the shimmano nexus 3 speed? i also see that the bike would need custom mounts to make it work. i was thinking i could mill the sprocket to make it work. will it interfere with the 3 speed? maybe i should just leave the bike alone lol. any info would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance! one more question any one in the NY CT NJ PA area build these on the side?

Pics of bike, any one?

Have you tried holding the sprocket against the wheel to see if it fits, or removing the wheel for a test-fitting?
Have you searched ' Felt Iron Cross ' or ' Felt Cruiser ' ?
Perhaps you could do a search, (I just did) and then contact fellow owners by PM.
Here's a starting point.

nice bile... I have a felt cruiser... they make the best motorized bikes IMO.

A couple of suggestions... sick bikes makes two things you need... a jackshaft kit and the front universal mount. Ridley motorcycles makes a front and rear mount but they are expensive and the rear mount doesn't work with the jackshaft kit.

here are a couple of picture of my bike... please feel free to pm me with questions if you have any.

Thanks for the replies guys!. vtec i see that their are 3 different kits on their site, and the only one in stock is the basic kit. will this be sufficient? also i have the stock shimmano 3 speed internal gear :D, will this kit work with that. thank you for the info i freaking love your bike!!! I just thought about something. My felt has a grip shifter' how does that work out with the engine kit? Do i leave it alone and put the gas on the left side? Thanks!!

Love the Iron Cross and the Bolt bikes! Don't just keep all that good build stuff to the PMs, keep us all informed on how it goes. They look great and I've geeked out over VTEC's 'Barron ever since I got on here.

Thanks!, i will definitely be posting everything i can on this build in here. Ive been doing some searching and it looks like i just need the sick bike kit with the front mount (thanks vtec.), and for the gas tank i will be looking for something custom for behind the rear seat. I am actually really exited about this now! still wondering if the base sick kit will be enough?

VTEC very nice bike! Love the clean proffessional looking install. Iron thats a nice ride too. Cafe style isnt for me but great looking bikes yall.

Any of them will work but I would get the deluxe HD kit. It comes with the hd freewheel which is a must. The standard freewheel broke after a few hundred miles... I replaced it and the hd one is still running strong. If not... the standard kit with an hd freewheel and 3 piece crank conversion will work fine.

The jackshaft kit basically transfers the power to the other side allowing the use of your stock drive chain, grip shifter, and the 3 speed hub. You will essentially have 3 gears for you engine. So to answer your question, yes leave it there and put the gas on the other side.... or use a brake style throttle. For that you can actually just use a standard brake lever.

Ghost0 and Pablo are the owners of sick bikes and can answer more specific questions about their products.... they have all sorts of good stuff. Off the top of my head I would recommend a head stud kit, fuel filter, ngk spark plug, hd air filter, and expansion chamber.

here is the tank I used on my bike... after about 3 or 4 different tanks, this is the best so far. If you look carefully you can see it behind my seat in the picture of my bike.
