Earlier my engine hit 227 degrees F how do I fix this? Or is that ok that was fully warmed up this engine is brand new.

Well this is a brand new carb and motor NEW STYLE NT 66cc carb Skyhawk GT5...seems tuned right but WHAT is the temperature supposed to be at? It runs at like 170-220 degrees fahrenheit aftebout 10 mins warm up and some revs/load.

Help please I don't want to blow it up.

Seems about right to me.

Taco allways said ours ran at 300 to 350 degres.

If it is so hot the engine is bogging down and the paint is smoking then you have issues.

Like an air leak.

Sounds like your engine is fine to me.

These engines like it hot. They do run better when moving down the road with air passing threw the fins then if you just sit there idleing.

Slaquers, you actually have a cool running engine. By the way where were you reading the temp?
My aircooled VW runs with an oil temp at 180 to around 200 (depending on ambient air temp / running load) and cylinder temp much higher than that- am told 350 is the upper limit for head temps.

Haha yeah, I read 220 and being from australia, assumed Celsius... lol.

220F is fine.

Your VW also has a cooling fan, that runs continuously when the engine is running.
