I have a schwinn occ chopper bike that I think would be cool as a daily commuter back and forth to work ( 6-7 miles one way) the engines I presently have are and old sear chainsaw that had a 18inch bar, and a b&s 5hp horizontal shaft . I saw a chopper that use the stock bikes chain and added another sprocket to the front. I'd like more details on that build. Love the bikes but for the guy who is searching and searching for pictures from which the gain info,,,very hard to see details.
If any of you occ chopper guys have build threads please send a link.
thanks again for the great info.

Not sure about a chain saw engine but this may give you some ideas.

james niice occ!
did you post the specs on your bike?
a. top speed?
b. vendors used?
c. is it a single speed?

thank you! :)

very nice. I heard that you could take a vertical shaft motor, rotate the carb and make it a horizontal shaft. anyone else hear this??

yea that's what I heard. 4 strokes are only good for torque. and we need rpm's

The bike build is mostly homebrew, (mount-jackshaft ect). As for speed, I have several OCC's and feel maintaining a speed of over 30 is very risky. Set up properly they can easily go over and maintain 35.
The Occ's do not have suspension and are low to the ground(poor for safety).
A reasonable and comfortable speed for an OCC is 22-27 mph.
If I were to build a daily commuter bike I would go, mountain bike w/shift kit with full suspension. My second choice would be a cruiser with spring fork.

[If I can be of any assistance with your OCC just contact Me.
