1st build. Old school styling.

I just finished the build it went smooth and fairly quick. Started with a Wallmart bike put on my own touches, and here is where it ended up

hey , that's a great looking bike . i love the diamond plate accents .
Have you rode it much ???
I built a Micargi Rover with only coaster brakes and it was SCARY until i fitted front & rear caliper brakes .
Please check out my similar build in the picture gallery under Micargi Rover .

I got about 100 miles on it so far. I have been driving it back and forth to work. Cruises great at 15 to 20 MPH vibration free. after that it vibrates a little. top speed so far from GPS is 33.7. I only tried it once, but it seems faster now that its broken in so it may be a Little quicker now.The coaster brake has not been a real issue because I have been pulling the clutch in and going slow down hill . where did you get your brakes from?

caliper brakes...

hey Skip-
I just scavenged brakes from another craigslist bike that i had . I had to drill a hole for the rear brakes , but it is worth it to have 2 sets .

I updated mine too. I stole a set off a junk bike I had in my garage. they are only side pull, but I put on a dual pull lever and some mountain bike pads and now it stops fine.

Saw this thread and thought I would update because I have been absent for so long. The bike now has over 2500 miles on it, still looks just like the pic and although slightly down on power (I now run it a little rich for cooling and hopefully longevity), is smoother than it ever was. It just had its four year birthday and still turns head everywhere I take it. I have been using the synthetic 100 to 1 mix oil and have had no complaints. On my second chain, my second back tire, and just ordered my second clutch cable. Very happy for the minimun cash invested in this project. To date I am under 500 dollars including new seat tool bag ,speedo and front and rear lighting.
