Is it a really bad idea to lay a bicycle down with the titan on it? I have done this at least once to change a flat. I can tell I'm losing a little oil by the the dirt sticking to my engine now. I just want to know if i'm asking for trouble by doing this. I don't really have a choice because I have a really heavy bike.

the oil may flow to where it doesn't usually go :(
a member here (Zev0) had a problem like that a long time ago, and I think it ruined his engine !!!

Get yourself a center double leg kickstand. Then you will be able to change a flat.I wouldn't lay it on it side.. as Azbill mentioned

thanks guys for the input.

The double kickstand sounds like a good idea, especially if I had someone to help. I'll have to look more into that. In the meantime, I think i'll carry a ratcheting strap to use as a hoist, using the nearest tree or road sign in a pinch.

Some people carry a length of rope for that purpose, it's lighter than a nylon ratcheting strap. Some engines don't like being laid on one side, but tolerate being laid on the other side just fine. Not sure about the Titan.
