Clutch My 66cc cracked! what do i do! clutch doesnt work properly!

wtf do you mean its not really needed? im pretty sure that on mine the clutch lever actuator thingy sorta sits init... i dont think that lever is just for looks, either...

You're right, I was thinking about something else.

Is the clutch not working because the plate behind the cover (part of the engine) is flexing. If that is the problem I came up with a solution to stabilize the upper right bolt and case. Real easy fix.

If the remains are cracked or missing I don't feel that a long bolt with a washer will last if it even will work to begin with. It just might but if not here is a permanent good looking fix.

Details are with pictures in photobucket.

and as he says...the clutch isnt working anymore, so its obviously flexing without that screw.

ok. the problem. youve smashed your engine case with the chain.

easy. youll need to clean it (acetone or similar) and find a welder that does alloy.

reweld lug back on, beef it up even...

or get a new case/engine.

get the engine...think of all those spares.

then tighten the chain next time!

Look again. He broke the clutch arm cover and not the chain gear cover that he circled leading to Al's misunderstanding. I hope you will apologize to Al for taking that tone with him.

Yes my misunderstanding...keep my idea in mind if you ever break the ear needed to secure cover to case. Yes a nice reworked (fender) washer should do the trick. You could use a longer bolt and cap the back with a nylock nut. So my first was right...the cover can be bought from one of the many vendors we have, should looks be a factor.

someone said i should port the intake and the exhaust port,
how would i do this with basic tools?

he broke the case, not the covers.

i shall still apologise for my tone nonetheless. a little excessive :(

argggh! stick to the topic! porting? already?

a decent exhaust is the biggest improvement.

als idea to run a bolt from under the clutch and across is good :)

Wild in the streets section will have the answers you need. That would be a better place to ask also.......more info will be gained there.

Curious minds want to know ... was it the cover that can be replaced that was broke or was it the part of the case that has the threads that the cover screw, screws into. I took your first post to read that the case itself was the piece that cracked. How did you accomplish the repair?
