Are there any diesel engines for biodiesel? Links?

I need a 1.6hp but maybe can use as little as 1hp.

I would really like to make my own boidiesel.

What are the pros and cons?

A pusher motor is installed on its own wheel or wheels and pushes the bicycle. A bicycle cart with additional cargo space besides the motor or just the motored cart that attaches to the bicycle. Some people like these because they can use the pusher with different bicycles.

diesel?

um. rc diesel. not really a true diesel anyway, except for the compression ignition part...

so.

theres the lohmann 18cc

http://motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/classic_bikes/lohmann-classic-motorcycles.php

try and find a running example now though....

and same as r/c...not reeeeeeally a diesel as such...

also i recall seeing a design for a small 2 stroke with no injector/pump... used a neat little venturi and one-way valve in the head/ combustion chamber instead. (very simple. one moving part!)

it apparently did work, so...

cant find anything...i havent really searched, mind you. just saw it in one of those old mechanical mags once... but the image is stuck in my head :D

both only really feasible for the backyard machinist... buy a mini lathe! mini mill! cnc and anythings possible! (surprisingly cheap, actually under 3g all up...)

commercially? nothing, zilch, zero. not that size.

pros.

they can and will run on ANYTHING. that was the intention of rudolf. to make an engine that would run on raw unrefined crude oil.

they make a helluva lotta torque.

no ignition system to get wet, burn out, blah.

no carbie to adjust, fiddle with, bleh.

cons.

high compression equals heavy, slow...

vibration

that typical rattle sound of a diesel

if its a proper two stroke diesel....freaking LOUD!

injectors get blocked.

high pressure line leaks can cause gangrene if not careful...

youll get chased by elephants if you smell like peanuts :p

this loooks verrrry interesting, do you think its possible to build one?

is there any more info about it on the net? like a build page?

If you ever find one of these, complete & running, expect to pay as much for it as a decent car.

Several years back, before new EPA laws, you could find some smaller diesels, but most were 3-4hp. The weight of diesel engines is always a drawback on a bike.

I am really liking this "pusher" http://www.motoredbikes.com/album.php?albumid=1178

With the weight of a diesal, I would prefer not to have it behind me.
