I have a 2001 Pacemaker 2. The bike was still in a box when I got it 3 weeks ago so the carb must be standred issue with this year wc1 motor (I'm guessing) it has it's own pepcock, if that helps. Can't find a model or brand on it. I have it running and it idles and runs good but when I get it reved up it goes flat at about 2/3 throttle. Is this a main jet issue? If so does any one know where to get parts for this carb? I pulled the main jet, soaked and cleaned it but no change. Any advice or knowladge would sure help. Thanks in advance!

WC1 Carb

Hi the slide (piston inside carb) has an adjustable needle in it, if you pull the tiny e-ring, and put it down a notch, this will lift the needle, and richen the mixture.

You can experiment, by partially applying the choke to see if it needs to be richer, or, a better way, read the spark plug for rich or lean condition.

Thanks, I have the clip on the lowest notch now, which is where it idles and runs the best except as I said the last 1/3 throttle. The air/fuel mixture seems to be ok (plug is not fouling or white).

There is also a restrictor sleeve inside the intake port that can be removed, see pic.Timing should be advanced one tooth. Is it a automatic or slip clutch? can you post a pic of your bike Ray

Ray, It is a slip clutch. I will try the timing today cause this is something I can probably handle. I know just enough to be dangerours. Here is a photo of the carb. Do you know the brand? It took a while to figure out attachments, but I got it now.

Well, I was wrong. Any tips for pulling the fly wheel? Is the bolt reverse Thread? Recomendations for holding the flywheel while I (try to) remove the bolt? I am very limited on tools but am willing to purchase what ever I need.

Mason Man was referring to advancing the cam timing by one tooth. You will need to take the side plate off (make sure to drain the oil first) to get to that. He also mentioned the restrictor plate. I don't suggest removing it but to open up the inside diameter to match the diamter of the intake. The restrictor needs to be in place to serve as a heat barrier, and is made of a material that works well in that regard. It can be possible to boil the gas in the carb without the restrictor in place.
If opening up the restrictor does not work, you may have to play with different size jets.
The carb incidentally is probably a Kie Han carb.

Thanks for the information!
Hi lemont1 That is one nice looking whizzer.here's pic of timing and intake restrictor.the muffler is also very restrictive.there's other areas that can help improve the flow as well.whizzerusa.com can help with you with parts or Quenton.Hope this helps Ray

Thanx Ray, I got stuck working the weekend so i will have to wait a bit to try any of these suggestions, bummer cause it's a real nice day. Sounds like the intake is the first thing to try from what I have read while searching for information. There is ALOT of great stuff (advice and knowledge) available at this site! Thanx for the pic's.
Dan.
