Hammerhead Trike

Hope the life insurance is paid up!

Just joking, very nice design. Wonder if you could do that w/ a 20" rearend and 26" front wheels? It would lower your center even more!

I could just see the looks from the cops up here with that!

Now that I think about it. Put sissy wheels on the back if you have too. Who cares what it looks like? If you got the right inflatible tires, it would look kind of cool! That thing is meant to be a workhorse anyway.

I've got an idea for much more cargo capacity. I'll do a mock-up with some pics soon.

I'm looking at hauling the equivalent of a 56 qt. cooler, in all that open space, under the front end. I'll have a nice low center of gravity & beef up the front cross-member at the same time.
Here's a look at the 56 qt. cooler I want to haul...... & about where I want to haul it.
(Pretend there's some ground clearance)

The Black plastic crate is only temporary.

Also planning a rack, above the front wheels, for wider items.

The overall width of the trike is 41".

Yup....I'm claiming the Lane!!

Mort,
My Life Insurance is paid up!!! Thanks for caring. :D

Not critiqueing your build, I think it's pretty cool. Doesn't having one fork w a rake to it and the other straight throw the alignment at all?

I'm sorry, I should open my eyes. In your last post they dont look different. Just different colors.

That thing should haul some serious stuff! 41 inches sounded wide.....until I measured mine. It's 42 inches......no wonder I can't get down the bike paths.:geek:

Gotta see a vid of you up on 2 wheels....never did that with mine.

That's a great looking build. Great bike for the trips to the store. Can't wait for the cooler mounting photos. Two Thumbs Up!!!

Very cool, must be very stable.
It's inspired me to try a similar set up that has lean in and independent suspension capability.
Hmmm...
A single spindle installed in the head tube so it now works like a large universal joint-
The cross bar/s mounted on that spindle, spring loaded so it auto centers...
The 3 wheels would also help carry bigger/extra battery's for a 1200 watt rear hub motor....
Or... how about 3, 350 watt hub motors , one in each wheel...running on just the rear wheel for economy or the fronts for traction or all 3 to haul heave loads or the best (my fave) just haul-in ***!
Great work...
