raw motors?

RawMotorsUSA is actually no longer producing from what I've been able to gather, although they are still being sold from stocked warehouses. I haven't seen a single one with a catalytic exhaust or EPA carburator, so I gather they aren't made in China. (Before you slander this, I wouldn't put it past the Red Army to put USA in a business/mfg name to get more sales to the US.) But as they're no longer in operations, it's not like we can just call em up and find out!

::::: EDIT:::::

As far as the iPod adapter is concerned, I've never heard of that before, but it wouldn't be hard to do. Just go use resistors and get the voltage to under 5V, slice in a USB power line and toss some switches in a box. After some black tape, an empty pack of cigarettes and some spray paint you'd have a working control box and your iPod/MP3 player always charged.

Wow, dunno how long they've been back up - the old website was RawMotorsUSA.com. The site removed all products, and then RAW retailers started jacking up the prices on 50cc RAWs, and when those sold out, they were out of stock "indefinitely", and did blowout prices on the 80cc RAWs. Granted that was some time ago, but it's good to see them back in the game. They open in about 2 hours, so I'll do the footwork and give them a call, find out for sure.

EDIT : Wow. I totally forgot today was Saturday. I'll have to give them a call Monday.

Just ordered my 2-stroke from Rawmotors.com last Sunday and it arrived on Wednesday. Pretty quick shipping. Opened the box and everything is there...complete. took it out of the box this evening when i came back from a trip and everything is fine even though i gotta check my clutch on the engine as it seems loose and just swaying around.

Oh...and I'm in California and he was able to send it to me which most of the vendors won't.

Raw Motors

I talked to the guy out at RawMotors.com and got the lowdown (like a month ago >_<) and found out that Raw motors are china built like all the others, but they no longer only do wholesale - they're now selling at a retail level.

They're great motors, and a pretty good price too.

i put mine on and it is ok but really crappy kit for some of the stuff.. the first day i put on the throttle lever the plastic thing that holds it still , broke. it is made out of plastic so i just used a self tapping screw to hold it in place. the kit comes with the you gotta drill in your frame to mount the motor .. that thing sucks so i just bolted it on wityh the bolts it came with but only have like three threads into the motor.. looking to buy longer threaded bolts.. and the clutch plate was stuck on the inside. they should really lube that stuff just a little bit so it dont stick. i like it and it is fast so far but who knows and i will be calling them about the junk parts on it. i wanted the universal bracket mount for the bike. i will fabricate one some how but when i bought my silver skyhawk from bikeberry,com ...... needles to say that thing had all the parts but cheap bolts on it. oh yeah and no muffler mount bracket in the kit from raw motors.. so i gotta buy some metal and make one of those after i make my custom poo poo pipe with a wetlockz exhaust box ..
