I only got 50 miles on a new build and this bearing/sproket trashed on me. Does any one know where to get parts? Every where I have tried says they are out of stock. I read about a one piece sprocket (with out this one way bearing), where do I find this? Any one else have this trouble? I just want to ride my bike! Here are pic's of the sprocket.

I wasn't aware that the 4G Drives that used the one way bearing had made it to the US? Do all of the versions of this drive that fit the Tapered shaft motors use this bearing rather than the freewheeling output cog? bicycle-engines seems to have the 100t driven pulley without the bearing in stock. http://www.bicycle-engines.com/tooth-pully-p-334.html I wonder if you could substitute one of these? Seems to me that this breakdown should be covered under a warranty. Have you contacted bicycle-engines about getting a replacment pulley under warranty? It seems they would rob a part from a complete drice if need be for a warranty repair? Just some thoughts.

Spooky Tooth is selling the 4G with the one way bearing

I forgot to ask them if they had parts

Why would bicycle-engines offer a warranty on a kit bought from a competitor?

I was under the impression that bicycle-engines was the sole US importer of Grubee Products, and also assumed that any other vendor who offered Grubee products were buying them thru bicycle-engines or drop shipping product thru bicycle-engines. I have never thought of Spooky Tooth as being a supplier of 4-stroke kits so the fact that they have recently started offering the newer 4G Drive as part of a kit escaped me. But no matter which vendor supplied the kit? the failed bearing should be covered under the warranty.

There are many Grubee wholesale distributors.

Gasbike / kingsmotorbikes would be the biggest now with
2 strokes and 4 strokes.
Spookytooth was the sole importer of 2 stroke Skyhawks

Several dealers used to import 2 stroke Starfires

Thanks for all the input. I bought the kit from a small CA. company and don't know or really care where they got it, They did reply to my e-mail and said they will locate and replace the broken parts (no discussion about warenty so we will see). I am courious weather the sproket without the bearing (bike engines) will fit directly to the shaft. Is this an after market cause others have had the bearing fail? I apreaciate the help every one here provides and hope to see you on the road soon!

The photo above of the 100t timing belt pulley is the one that came with the 2009 4G Drive units. It fits a 15mm keyed shaft and the key is 4mm.

:DJust thought I would let you know what I ended up with. I tried a second one way bearing and it lasted about 20 miles (these are trash) the co. I got the kit from says they will have the new improved version available after Christmas. I found a 100 tooth pulley with no bearing (2009 version as ocscully mentioned) and it does fit but finding a belt was not easy. Played with some v-belts but getting tight enough not to slip to much puts to much stress on the set up to get the warm fuzzy feeling. It (100 tooth with T-belt)changed the gearing enough that with out changing the rear sproket I couldn't climb my favorite hill without a good running start. My final fix is in the picture attached. I AM NOT A WELDER! It aint pretty but it works fine. What is the reason for the one way bearing any way, other than selling replacments and ****ing me off. Thanx for all the help, I am on the road, done with this one and ready for the next project (a family trike build).
