Greetings all! I am new to this forum. I own a bike shop in Kissimmee. I am about to receive my first motor kit to fit on a bike in my shop. It is supposed to arrive by the 24th of December.

I am sure there are many useful nuggets of information on this site I will find useful regarding these motorized bikes.

Thanks for the opportunity to learn about these amazing machines! :D

Well, an especially welcoming greeting to you sir. We appreciate bike shops who are as enthusiastic as we are.

Thanks!

Thanks! I will do my very best to excel in building and or helping to maintain motorized bikes for myself and others whom have them. :D

Lots of great tips on this forum and great folks. Tips like locktite and better bolts; as well as doing a prebuilld disassemble and dremmel polish and port to remove burrs and improve fit and performance. I think the 2 strokes will last longer if you do this and run good full synthetic 2 stroke oil like amsoil. I also run high octane gas and I get to 34 MPH w/44t spocket and a 190 pound dude on a 49cc Grubee SKyhawk. Put 700 miles on it so far, just remeber to keep everything tight and look for stress cracks occasionally.

One of the topics here has been- why do bike shops hate us?
Really, we are baffled that some guys actually turn down making money off us.

Thank you for selecting Motoredbikes to be a member on. Good people are here.

Good to know

It is valuable tips like these that will help folks like myself maintain a safe MB. I have already noticed information missing from the installation guide of the engine I currently have.

The first donor bike I tried was not working out so well...it has a "style curve" on the rear support that throws the alignment off from the tension wheel. In addition to that, the chain rubs along the upper support that angles up to the saddle area. :(

I just purchased a replacement bike to retry again today. :D

I look forward to brining myself up to speed on these amazing machines!

The current build is for one of my customers. I will post pics in the photo section of the forum when it is complete.

I will also build one for myself...I really got hooked when I test drove one a few weeks back.

Welcome to MBc. It's not so much that the machines are amazing; it is that the builders are amazing. Folks here are constantly coming up with new gadgets, new methods, new materials, and some of the wildest, simple solutions to what appeared to be a complex problem. Remember to search first, then red, then ask questions...it will save everyone a lot of time and trouble. Good Luck.
