Neat bike ! I just cannot recommend motorizing an old bike like that, though.

why not.i got these bikes coming out of my ears. and this one is the most perfect example of 50's hot bicycle culture

I am the type who likes to leave everything original. I like Ford Model A's, but not after they have been customized. It is just my preference.
If I had a lot of those those old bikes, I would sell some off & buy an old Cushman or Mustang Motor Scooter to restore.

then you would make a fantastic borg (star trek) or mabye a delorean owner.
no individualism everything must remain as stock. you can change anything on your own

you are talking to a man who put hydralic suspension on a 1939 fully skirted delahaye falaschi .

Welcome to MBc. That is a very nice restoration of that old J.C.Higgins. Oh, sand btw, was that Delahaye Falaschi a coupe or a sportster?

Then someone must have taken very good care of it. How about the Delahaye Falaschi...was that a Coupe or Sportster?

Personally, I agree with Esteban. Motorizing that bicycle would be a shame. That said, just off-hand I can't think of any American made 4 stroke engine that would fit that frame without serious modification.

I, too, am quite curious - please tell us more about that Delahaye you modified.
