Wobble on rear drive sprocket

Hi everyone,

I'm very new to this forum but have turned here for some help with my build. I'm new to the motorized bicycle scene and have recently purchased a Schwinn beach cruiser bike and the new 4-stroke 4G T-Belt Engine kit.

I've haven't had any trouble converting the bicycle except for the rear drive sprocket. I can't seem to get the rear drive sprocket to sit perfectly true and flush. When I spin the wheel the sprocket has an obvious wobble to it. Not much, but probably about 1/8"-1/4." I have tried over 20 times to tighten the bolts in a star like pattern as per described by the instructions. I can't seem to get anywhere with it. One bicycle tech told me to take a rubber mallet and wack the sprocket to get it true. But this doesn't really sound like how I would like to approach this problem.

Is there any advice from anyone that had the same problem?

I've attached the engine and hooked up the chain just to see if the chain jumped off the teeth but it doesn't. Is it safe to assume it wouldn't jump off at all, even when the engines running?

Have you checked the spokes by any chance? Only thing I can think of.

No it is not safe to assume the chain wont jump off or worse pull your tensioner into your spokes as well. The best cure is to get a Manic Mechanic Sprocket adapter from Pirate Cycles to end this worry. By no means are you the first to have this problem and worse using a Rag Mount adapter .
